"Melissa and Johnathan deliver practical, approachable, and memorable advice on the craft of leadership. This is everything you wish you knew when you started."
-- Michael Lopp (aka Rands), bestselling author of Managing Humans and Being Geek

"The greatest advice I've gotten in my career has always been one of two things - accessible or actionable. This book shows up with both. Cover-to-cover, HFUIYM delivers valuable, friendly, game-changing advice."
-- Saadia Muzaffar, founder of TechGirls Canada

"Leading today is as much about leading yourself, as leading others. HFUIYM is a no nonsense, engaging read for people who want to level up their management skills. Witty and direct, it cuts to the chase of what it takes to be a modern leader."
-- Jane Finette, President and Founder of The Coaching Fellowship

"This book is a must-read for anyone leading a team in a fast-paced workplace. The short chapters have practical lessons and advice for those of us who often feeling like we're doing everything wrong. It has become the HR department on my bookshelf, and I reach for it often."
-- Avery Swartz, founder and CEO Camp Tech

About the Author

Johnathan Nightingale has built and operated organizations from 2 people to 250. He was the Vice President of Firefox for Mozilla during a period of intense turmoil inside Mozilla and out. He helped build and launch the first Firefox offerings on Android and iPhone, and still cheers every time the open web wins. After Mozilla he joined Hubba as their Chief Product Officer, and helped that team triple in size while improving their diversity stats instead of watching them slide. He is proud to sit on the board of Creative Commons, and is a big believer in the power of mission-based organizations. He has strong opinions about your coffee infrastructure.
