HASH(0x9899b3a8) out of 5 stars Good book for wrestling coaches new and old April 12 2012

It's really nice to see someone write a book that comes up with some great philosophical wisdom in coaching. After coaching for many years a lot of it was review/reinforcement for me but I did pick up some great new ideas. I think new coaches will get a lot out of it. I wish more coaches had a humanistic approach as it would be better for everyone. I would have liked to see more expansion in some of the applications in practices and if a second book comes out I would purchase it right away.

A highly insightful philosophy about coaching wrestling and coaching/teaching in general. Coach "O" is a Pennsylvania wrestling legend and this is a fine culmination of his vast experience and great insight into coaching young people. A must-read for any thoughtful, intelligent wrestling coach.

I had the privilege to wrestle for Coach Onorato for one season at Behrend and he made a lasting impression on me for life. His coaching and teaching prepared me for life more than any class or degree.
