About the Author

Jaime Reese is the alter ego of an artist who loves the creative process of writing, just not about herself. Fiction is far more interesting. She has a weakness for broken, misunderstood heroes and feels everyone deserves a chance at love and life. An avid fan of a happy ending, she believes those endings acquired with a little difficulty are more cherished.

Sigh. What a beautiful, heart wrenching, sensual intense journey!

Lots of tears and smiles.

First time reading this author, and it was so so good!

I read m/m because I love the intensity, passion....this author does not disappoint. You are pulled in to this beautiful, intriguing story from page 1. You will really enjoy Cam and Hunter's story!! It has a Happy Ending but I hope we find out more about this sexy intense couple in future stories.

3 1/2 Hearts Reviewed by Thommie

Jaime Reese certainly stepped up her game with this book. It’s not merely a romance like the prequel, it’s suspense and conspiracy as well. It is also a long book that will keep you occupied for some time.

The main character, Cameron, was somehow introduced to us in the prequel. We had a glimpse at his file, what he was charged with, how many years he spend in prison, and how some things didn’t quite add up, his circumstances being more than just strange, but that was just the top of the iceberg of one big conspiracy and crime ring. Cameron is a complex character. He has been ripped of his most important years of his life, but also of hope, security, and he is barely holding up his sanity. Being constantly on his guard is wearing on him and his trust issues are severely challenged when he meets Hunter. Now before I hop over at Hunter I need to point out how contradictory Cameron feels at times. We get all this I-don’t-trust-anyone issues he has from the beginning, he also has a severe case of panicking when hope blooms inside him (that was sad), but he seems to adjust so well in his job and his new employers, he seems to react so well in this environment that at times you forget his issues, and that makes you kind of whiplash when he succumbs into his panics. The difference of going from bright to dark in the blink of an eye was enormous, the emotional state quite unstable, so much so that I kind of wondered about this character’s state of mind.

Now, enter Hunter. Hunter is the State Attorney and a regular at the diner where Cam gets a job. The chemistry between these two cracks up in seconds and it remains an intense thing throughout the entire read.

This series just grabs you and pulls you in. This book was about Cam and Hunter.
Julian and Matt are back along with Sam. Julian with his sense of humor and Matt the caring caretaker. There was some mystery, suspense along with humor and a love story. Found myself not wanting to put this book down I was so drawn into the story.
Cam and Hunter's love story was so romantic. Cam was broken in a way that left him unsure and feeling very guilty. Hunter was an attorney, strong, confident and very sure of himself. He did everything he could for Cam to move on. Very touching story.

I love how Jaime Reese writes so beautifully with so much emotion. You just become part of the book as your reading. Can't wait for book 3.

I was given this in return for an honest review by Inked Rainbow Reads.

It's a good book. I like this one and the first one a lot. The story is a little more complicated and the couple is a little different this time. A younger guy (I think 28 years) and a guy who's about 40. There's a definite age gap but it doesn't take away that they're meant for each other and that they're good for each other. It's a good story and I really enjoyed getting to know each one. The plot is a little darker in this one but it makes for a great read.
