HASH(0xa1302810) out of 5 stars oh yeah and love.. Loved it March 8 2016
By Sharon Richmond - Published on
Format: Kindle Edition
Omg where to begin, sigh. This book is so full of mystery, suspense, nail biting, looking over your shoulder type of book, oh yeah and love..Loved it.

This is the 3rd book of the Marchwood Vampires by Shalini Boland and Alex and Maddy return once again to fight off the Cappadocian Vampires. Only this time something far more sinister is stalking them. A prophecy that tells of the bright one is coming and Alex is the one it seeks.

Throughout centuries the bright one brought justice to the evil ones, now it has almost ceased surviving, until it felt them returning, the Vampires..and it is the ancient vampire hunter, the bright one who will seek them out.

This book goes back and forth between Scythia, 514 B.C. and Christmas day present time. Dam this book has so much going on in it I just don't know which to list first. And if you haven't read it I highly suggest you do. I will be reading the first two books since this was the last one of the series, I need to know more of these Marchwood Vamps, lol. If you want to add your imagination to it go look up "Hell Fire Caves" in London, they gave me an eerie feeling since it was the type of caves I had pictured in the book, freaky.

Absolutely Loved this book!!! Very different and unique..I received an ARC of this book for an honest review.

HASH(0xa1302840) out of 5 stars All good things must come to an end March 8 2016
By Courtney R. Wells - Published on

All good things to those who wait. All good things must come to an end.

As brilliant as our age of self-publishing is for giving authors an opportunity to share stories without the constraints and hoops of agents and publishers, it is a challenge to find stories that generate the same loyalty and enthusiasm from readers as found in traditional publishing. A lot can feel lackluster, unpolished or or hit/miss but this series was something I felt true affection for. Enough so when I saw the final installment was coming out I was both thrilled and saddened to know I could revisit the Marchwood vampires one last time.

I came across the first in the series a couple years ago during one of my vampire reading kicks and was genuinely impressed as well amused by the story. Plenty of stories featuring vampires released in the last few years are melodramatic swoon-fests and while MARCHWOOD definitely echoes elements of the TWILIGHT sage it never feels beholden to that template. Sure, there's romance and alluring vampires but there are also emotional elements and humor that positively remind me of MY BLOOD APPROVES.

Flattering comparisons aside, HUNTED and the rest of the series has always stood on its own mirth and merit. One of the things I do love about this series and Shalani Boland's writing as a rule is you get multiple POV characters as well backstory chapters that tie into the present. It gives the world a sense of history, depth, and context for readers to appreciate how past actions cause present day consequences and I truly love a series with layers to it.

And now we've reached the last.

HUNTED continues taping into romance, mystery, suspense, horror with action to give the reader an adventure and experience. It manages to expand upon what the last two books introduced as well give a satisfying conclusion now that it's all said and done. Maddy remains one of my favorite protagonists in a vampire series. Her sass and sincerity never ceased to amuse or provide a human reaction to supernatural events, which I'll miss sorely.

Tearful and fond farewells notwithstanding, I recommend this series to those who enjoy vampire YA but find themselves wanting for more than a story with substance beyond romance. It was one that delighted me and something I thought back to warmly years after setting a book down. I hope others find their way to it.

I have just finished this book and have more emotions than I can express. I'm happy with the ending, I'm sad that it has ended, but mostly I'm excited in what a good book it is!! This is a great series and I was so very glad when Hunted was released. This series is great from the first book to the last and is good for all ages. I am going to miss Maddy and Alex and everyone at Marchwood. If you haven't read this book or this series and you are looking to my review for advice, then all I can say is get the series and get comfortable. Because once you start reading, you won't want to put it down!! Very well done Ms Shalini Boland, very well done indeed!! :))

HASH(0xa1302c60) out of 5 stars I love the way Ms March 11 2016

I have waited for almost 2 yrs to read the story of Madison, Alex, and the Marchwood vampires. Let me just say that it has been worth the wait. I love the way Ms. Boland weaves more than one storyline into this series. I was surprised though--I changed my mind about one character after getting more of the background story. I don't want to say too much or give anything away. The story wraps up nicely :-). Make sure you read this book when you have some time to spare, or you will be too engrossed in the story to do anything else!

HASH(0xa2424938) out of 5 stars A must read! March 8 2016

This book was amazing!! Wasn't your typical vampire story at all, and had creatures that I've never read about before. It was full of nail biting twists and turns from beginning to end. Absolutely loved Alex and Maddy together. All of the characters worked well together and made for a riveting experience. I read in one sitting because once I got started I just couldn't put it down.
