I loved this book! Penny although has amnesia still finds her way home regardless. Ben Brand who for the past two years has been beside himself with grief feels he is losing his mind as well when he sees a life like copy of his wife.. Could it be? What happened that fateful day two years ago? More than anyone every imagined. Rich in feeling and love I couldn't put this book down I loved it and look forward to reading more books by Maggie Shayne.

HASH(0x9f4ebba0) out of 5 stars A very touching story. April 12 2005

Format: Mass Market Paperback
Another great story about the Brands. 4th in the series. This one is Ben & Penny's story.

Ben is grieving for his lost wife Penny. Penny has amnesia, but still finds her way back home to Ben.

We find out what happened to Penny 2 years earlier. A very touching story & a welcome addition to the Brand family saga.

Next book, book 5 is about one of the Brand missing cousins, Marcus in "That mysterious man".
HASH(0x9f69ed44) out of 5 stars Brands visit again July 22 2011

Format: Kindle Edition
Its nice to visit with the Brands from Texas again. This is Ben's story. Ben kept thinking he saw his wife's ghost but everytime he went rushing where he saw her she was not thier.
The lady that was spying on Ben had no memory of who she was and why she was kept in the clinic in a coma for so long. She took the nurse's purse, credit card and flew to texas to the address she found in lining of her coat. She also stole a used car to get their. She made friends with a homeless dog oliver. When she was running away from diner she ran into Ben. This time he knew she was real.
She now new she was Penny Brand and where she was buried. Penny did not know who kept lying to her in clinic if somone from her past wanted her gone.
Ben was glad she was alive but afraid he would loose her again from the illness she was dying from 2 years ago. Ben also knew he couldn't rush Penny's memories of him and who did he bury?
Its a charming book. I found myself getting teary in a few places, laughing in others.
I was given the ebook in exchange for honest review.

HASH(0x9ec5ab04) out of 5 stars A great book! A touching love story! Nov. 23 1999
By Susan J. Reinhardt - Published on
Format: Mass Market Paperback
I'd heard a great deal of praise for this book before I picked it up and I wasn't disappointed. It's a great story. The plot is original and well told. All the characters, even the secondary ones, are well developed. You feel like you're part of the story from chapter 1. But what a touching love story. I loved it, simply loved it and I couldn't put it down. It's a story I'll never forget.

If I had to grade this book over all; I would give it a solid A+ all around. The suspense & the mystery had me squirming on the edge of my seat. Then there's so many heart-warming moments, some that is sure to make you weep, both from joy and heart-ache. The whole mystery plot kept me busy throughout the whole story, too. I have come to love this big boisterous family.

I would highly recommend not only this book, but the whole series also.
