This book was AMAZING!!! If I could rate it higher than 5 Stars, then I would.

I finished it yesterday and couldn't contain my excitement. I must have recommended it throughout Facebook a hundred times yesterday. This is the kind of book, that after you read it, you just want to shout from the rooftops about all of its awesomeness. In one particular group on Facebook, a few ladies and I got into a little discussion about its awesomeness, and upcoming releases from Shantel Tessier. I voiced how I can't believe I've only seen this title being recommended only once!!! JUST ONCE. I was shocked that most people haven't even heard about this author. Like how has she flown under our radar? This book was a prayer come true, to fix my book slump. (Even though I'm having a hard time moving onto a new book since finishing this one.)
Shantel Tessier - you have just gained a fan for life!! I cannot wait to read more from you.

I really enjoyed "I Dare You" By Shantel Tessier a lot more than I was initially expecting.
And although this was a very long read it still managed to engage my attention throughout.
I was actually rather sad to finish this and leave such a vibrant cast behind.
So this was my first experience with this author but I can honestly assure you it definitely won't be my last.
From the very moment I started reading this, I was absolutely transfixed and invested in this addictive storyline.
The characters portrayed here were vividly brought to life against it's colourful backdrop.
And as well as an extremely interesting and ultimately flawed H & h there was also a fantastic supporting cast running alongside them.
This was told in dual POV which is my all-time favourite.
"I Dare You" also had for me, just the right amount of angst and drama to strike a balance of interest without totally alienating the reader.
And although Cole is a complete and utter dick to Austin throughout this, I still couldn't help rooting like a one-woman cheer squad for the pair of them.
So this is really not kittens and rainbows, just saying.
Please go into this with your eyes wide open as this story ultimately centres on an extremely toxic YA relationship.
The kind that really isn't healthy and you definitely wouldn't want your daughter in.
But that is actually half the draw here, watching these two damaged individuals play a silent game of chess with each other, where the rules are so obscure they actually seem to be made up as they go along.
This is also plenty kind of hot.
Where were these young sex gods when I was a nipper myself.
Totally unrealistic if I'm being real but do I care? not really I enjoyed all the steammy shenanigans like sooo much.
I also adored the cover image here.
I felt it represented the story fabulously and was super eye-catching.
I Cant recommend "I Dare You" enough it was a super read that was full of twists and turns throughout.
Give this fast-paced read a go I guarantee you won't be disappointed.

Fans of The Elite Kings Club by Amo Jones and The Royals by Erin Watt will love this book!! I know I did.

Wow. It just pulls you right in from the first line and refuses to let you go. I went through so many feelings while reading, with fear being at the forefront for most of it. Some happiness in there, more fear, sadness and then ending happy.

Austin is literally unwanted by her mother, harassed by her mother’s boyfriend, ignored by the father she is sent to, and tolerated, at first bordering on liked, by her stepmother. So she’s sent to her father only to stumble into a group of boys, with one taking the lead on her demise.

Cole sets out to destroy Austin emotionally. After an accident that he took blame for, he decides how else live life but to make other people suffer, so that’s what he does with Austin. She stumbles into a dark secret, so he has fun with her to ensure that she won’t rat him out.

For the first chunk of the book that is how it goes. The hate between these two are so strong and so hot, my Kobo almost melted. And then we see the big bag Cole melt more and more for her. What I loved most about these two was the slow burn romance. The physical happened much sooner, but it took a long time for either of them to realize their true feelings. Austin knew it sooner I believe, but ignored it, knowing he didn’t want her in return, while Cole fought it every step of the way. Until a certain point. Then they melted my ereader for just being so cute together. I loved their bantering, their romantic moments, and his protective moments. All the moments just fit these two so well.

So on top of this dark YA romance, there is a game of dares, a boy’s club, a twisty plot filled with horrible fathers, jealous stepmothers, bad people, and a jerk of a friend. Let’s not forget to add a nice friendship, a wonderful male secondary character, a cute secondary character romance...oh, and violence, murder, and hot sex. Curious how these all fit together? I hope so, because then it’ll make you read it.

It’s the first (I think) that I have read by this author, but I will be checking out more for sure. It was such an insanely good story and great writing. There was a time or two where the writing didn’t feel as tight/strong, like it could have used a small rewording or tone change, but since it happened so infrequently and they was so many more strong parts of the writing than weak ones, this book easily won me over.

5 stars all the way!

Throughout the entire book I honestly didn't know if I could finish it. Not because it was a bad read, completely the opposite actually but my God... Cole had me MAD. I wanted to reach into the pages and just shake him. He's beautifully scared by the circumstances of his past and wants to use Austin any way he can to get revenge. Their back and forth and chemistry is off the charts.

First time reading anything from this author and I loved it.

I Dare You is a fast paced and full of action that I couldn't turn the pages fast enough to find out what was going to happen. It was dark, gritty, suspenseful, intense and the twists will keep you surprised throughout. It was so good that I couldn't stop reading. The characters were interesting and intriquing. I enjoyed every minute of this book.
