HASH(0x9a8efc60) out of 5 stars Helps fill in the depths of history (about 4000 BC to Middle Ages), but could use rewriting Dec 4 2013
By Cat Lady 67 - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Paperback Verified Purchase
I'm giving this a "4 stars" for the original, fascinating information -- which, unfortunately, is buried inside tons of repetitive material. The author seems to fear that you will miss the connections between his premises and the current topic, so he makes it again, just about every time he brings up a point of evidence. I do hope he, or someone, rewrites this information, even if they don't add more evidence, because it needs to eliminate the constant restatements.

This book has added much to my understanding of the distant past, from about 3500 BC to the Middle Ages, where the material we're taught in an evolution-only framework just doesn't fit either the Bible's presentation of history, or the legends of many peoples around the world (such as a world-wide Flood), OR this archaeological evidence!

HASH(0x9adddd74) out of 5 stars An exciting addition to new age and metaphysical studies shelves. Nov. 5 2006
By Midwest Book Review - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Paperback
Written by James I. Nienhuis, Ice Age Civilizations explores evidence of ancient, technologically advanced prehistoric civilizations and city-states, some of which are suggested to have submerged when the Ice Age ended. Hypotheses range from Sea Kings that navigated the Pacific and settled in Ice Age Europe to evidence that ancient peoples measured and mapped the globe to possible astral extensions of mankind. Drawing upon both conventional and metaphysical science, Ice Age Civilizations reminds the reader of myriad mysteries that contemporary classroom education cannot begin to fully explain. The appendices clarify insights into a variety of topics, from the possible use of the Celtic Cross as a navigational tool to a thorough chastisement of the Darwinian theory of macroevolution (while acknowledging that microevolution, as seen through small species changes due to simple natural selection, does exist). An exciting addition to new age and metaphysical studies shelves.

HASH(0x9b748fc0) out of 5 stars An amazing book for putting the pieces of human history together within a Biblical framework! Feb. 13 2013
By randy myers - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Paperback Verified Purchase
How old is the earth? Is the earth really billions of years old? Was Noah's Ark for real? Why was there an Ice age and why will there not be another ice age in the future. Author James Nienhuis provides the answers to these and other questions within a Biblical framework. The descendants of Noah were brighter and more advanced than popularly advanced by modern day intelligentsia. Far from "hunter-gatherer" cavemen, they traveled the globe in sea fearing ships guided by an advanced knowledge of the procession of the stars, building huge megalithic cities, and making maps of unmatched accuracy until modern times. They left their legacy in ancient writings and local folklore which Neinhuis utilizes to great effect to paint a picture of our amazing ancestors. Nienhuis describes how quickly the descendants of Noah fell away from an understanding of the truth, lost their advanced knowledge of the procession of the stars and fell into paganism.

HASH(0x9ade07bc) out of 5 stars A New Perspective on History March 8 2012
By D.H. Mass - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Paperback
What if the ancient history we all learned in school was incomplete? What was human history before the Romans or Egypt or Greece? What if our ancient ancestors where far more advanced than we are lead to believe? What if there is evidence of their advancements and civilization?
Nienhuis addresses some of these questions in this informative and interesting book.
If interested in ancient history you may also find Ken Johnson's Ancient Post-Flood History: Historical Documents That Point to Biblical Creation to be a good resource.

HASH(0x9bb2d458) out of 5 stars Food For Thought March 26 2013
By MommyBear - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Paperback
I enjoyed reading Ice Age Civilizations because it gave a Christian perspective on research done by scientists such as Graham Hancock, as well as connecting different pieces of the puzzle from "Maps of the Ancient Sea Kings" and "Golden Thread of Time" by Crichton Miller. If you want to know HOW the ancient sea kings managed to travel and map the globe, read this book. If you are Christian, curious about ancient civilizations, read this book!
I give it four stars instead of five because the complete lack of line-drawing or illustrations (in the Kindle version) made it very hard to grasp concepts that could have been made plain by the even simplest of graphs.
