About this item
- 【Double Sided Textured Printing】IdeaFormer-3D offers 2 types of patterns for your printing, you don't have to worry about whether to buy PEO or PET plate, we combine diamond PEO and carbon fiber PET with one spring steel plate.
- 【High Strength Spring Steel Materials】IdeaFormer-3D used high-strength spring steel plate, with good flatness and elasticity. It's not easy to deform after repeated bending.
- 【Excellent Adhesion For First Printing Layer】We recommend these filaments & temperatures for your PEO+PET build plate “PLA: 60~65℃; PETG: 70-80℃”. If your printer is X1 series, please turn off "Enable detection of build plate position", otherwise it will cause bad adhesion.
- 【Clean And Clean The Build Plate!!!】To get better adhesion, please clean and clean well. Give it a very good spray with isopropyl and wipe with lint free towel between each print. Any tiny bit of oil or residue will make your print non-stick.
- 【Package Included】1 x Spring steel plate (Diamond PEO+Carbon Fiber PET Double Sided Printing) Compatible for Bambu Lab X1C/X1/X1E/P1P/P1S/A1.

IdeaFormer-3D PEY/PEO/PET/PEI Build Plate For Bambu Labs X1 X1C X1E P1P P1S A1
IF YOUR PRINTER IS FOR X1 SERIES
Our plate is 3rd party build plate, we don't have 2D code. If your printer is X1 series, for the problem of the ArUco / QR code not being recognized, it's the issue for Bambu Lab, you can just ignore the build plate warning or turn off the “enable detection of build plate”.
YOU NEED TO KNOW
1. There is a film in PEO/PET/PEY/Smooth PEI side, please remove it before using the build plate.
2. Every plate will be tested before sending, but if you find some light scratch on the PET/PEO sheet surface, please let us know, and we will solve this problem as fast as we can.

- Reviewed in Canada on July 15, 2024Colour Name: Pet+peiSize: 257x257Verified PurchaseI had a previous review here, but this is better...
I have the carbon fiber and diamond patterns both. The plate thickness is very similar to the Bambu originals. I struggled to get good adhesion to both of these plate designs. I put aside the diamond (which I found marginally worse) and focussed on the carbon fiber design as I had an application need.
First - you do need to disable bed position detection in Bambu studios. Lots of help online on that and really just a box to click so no big deal.
The included instructions suggest adhesion problems can be overcome by moving from the recommended smooth plate selection to a textured plate selection and then if that fails to solve the problem, as a final step, modifying the g-code. I tried all of these (the g-code sounds daunting, but it isn't too bad once you do some online searching); however, none of these sorted my adhesion problems (yes - I did detergent wash the plates too - avoiding even 99% isopropyl alcohol dilutant residue).
So - back to basics.
After some experimentation I did have good success in getting a nice carbon fiber look bottom layer. The trick for me on my Bambu X1 Carbon (latest version @ 15 July 2024) was to make the following changes: 1) increase bottom layer thickness from 0.2 mm to 0.25 mm, 2) decrease the speed for the bottom layer perimeter from 50 to 20 mm/s, and 3) decrease the bottom layer infill speed from 105 mm/s to 20 mm/s.

- Reviewed in Canada on December 3, 2024Colour Name: Smooth Peo+smooth PetSize: 257x257Verified PurchaseProduct provides good adhesion and gives a very impressive finish to your prints. Just make sure that you frequently wash it with soap and water. It is important to wait for it to cool prior to removing your print so that you don't damage the textured surface. After each print, give it a quick spritz of IPA and then wipe it with a shop towel. Be sure to keep you fingers off the print surface. Every 5th or 6th print, wash with warm water and soap in order maintain the good adhesion.
- Reviewed in Canada on September 16, 2024Colour Name: Smooth Pey+textured PeiSize: 257x257Verified PurchaseI purchased the variation that has the gold PEI sheet, and the Stary Night on the other side of the plate. After reading some of these reviews it seemed like it would be a good alternative to the OEM Bambu Labs plate. However, sadly, it is not.
The stary night pattern part of the plate hardly transfers over to your print. I tried multiple different settings, but the overall transfer was weak and hard to see. The prints did stick, after ensuring that I had tweaked the correct print bed settings within Bambu Studio.
The PEI sheet started off promising as I had no issues with adhesion and the prints did not lift. I was sure to follow proper print bed care, and cleaned it as the description of the product said. But after about 6 large prints I started having adhesion issues. Certain parts of the bed do not stick at all. Almost like a coating has been removed, but the plate itself looks brand new. I thought it might be dust, or oil from my hands after removing a print, so I deep cleaned the plate and heat set it before trying again. But the same issues in the same spot of the plate all over again.
It doesn't matter what model I'm printing, or Filament as I've tried about 7 different rolls, from different brands and tweaked the settings within Bambu Studio near a million times. Nothing will stick.
This is super disappointing as I was hoping to be one of the lucky few reviewers that had good luck with this product. I can't recommend buying this overall. After not even a month of owning this plate, with low print hours, it's already failed. Comparing this to the OEM Bambu Labs plate that lasted 14 months with THOUSANDS of hours of print time and proper care.
- Reviewed in Canada on June 30, 2024Colour Name: Smooth H1hSize: 257x257Verified PurchaseHad issues with the build plates cupping or liftin up a corner or two even when on the magnetic bed. They worked just fine at PLA temps, but starting at hotter end of PETG I was having issues with the corners lifting from the magnetic base that the printer seemed to be able to push through. When printing ASA/PC the build plate warps to a near unusable state. Weirdly enough I tried some elastics around the levelling knobs and over the corners of the plate and it's eliminated the issue completely. Now that i've printed on it a few times with success it's good and the holo does come through quite nicely. I hade it work, it was still worth buying, but do consider printing temperatures and how magnetic your beds stay at high temperature.
Update: vendor sent a replacement and it was somewhat better but still cupped in one direction. Had an idea and found out that an elastic to hold down the corners and it worked extremely well. The patterns come through nicely
- Reviewed in Canada on September 12, 2024Colour Name: Smooth Black Pei+textured Black PeiSize: 257x257Verified PurchaseI'm giving this plate 3 stars mostly because it did not last, but it could be bad luck on my part as well to some degree.
With my Bambu official plates (Smooth + Textured) only 1 ripped over the last 600+ work hours.
This one ripped within the first 24h of use.
The issue occurred while using PETG-HF with an A1 on the smooth* PEI side near the handle part (where the filament line starts).

@theDavidLeachReviewed in the United States on October 18, 20235.0 out of 5 stars Love this bed, use it on both my Bambu Lab X1 and Ankermake M5, fits both
Colour Name: Peo+peiSize: 257x257Verified PurchaseI ordered this bed to replace using diffraction grating film or 3m vinyls.
The product arrived same day and packaged nicely for safe transport.
I absolutely love PEI beds and love this bed for the unique diffraction pattern it produces on the first layer of my prints. Previously I used diffraction grated film taped onto my beds, or 3m vinyl wraps like carbon fiber or forged carbon fiber, however the longevity of usage is not so great with film or vinyl.
When I use these beds with the diffraction pattern side up (it has dual sides, normal PEI textured or the diffraction grating side (triangles) ) I mostly stick with PLA and TPU. Ideaformer states that you should only use PLA, TPU, PETG, or ABS, however I have limited success with PETG and ABS due to poor bed adhesion. The maximum rated temp for these beds is a solid 180c and I don't know many people that ever set their bed past 100c, most printer beds are not even capable of going over 110c. I have no issues with PLA and TPU adhering to the bed. I set bed temp to 65c for both PLA and TPU.
I use this bed on both my Bambu Labs X1 and my Ankermake M5. On the Ankermake M5 it is a little larger than the bed itself but this hasn't been an issue at all. I have completed several hundred prints on the Ankermake M5 using these beds with zero issue. Some people cut the bed to perfect size but I find that unnecessary, plus I can swap the bed from my Bambu to Anker printer without issue. Ideaformer makes these beds with 3 different patterns, small triangles (this one), carbon fiber look, and "starry night". I own all 3 and love them!
To ensure the best results... hopefully your first layer game is on point!
I would definitely recommend this to others!

Robert Levandowski Jr.Reviewed in the United States on August 8, 20244.0 out of 5 stars Another "just works" novelty plate from IdeaFormer
Colour Name: Smooth Pey+textured PeiSize: 257x257Verified PurchasePEY type plates are novelties, and a lot of them on the market just don't work: they don't have enough bed adhesion to be useful.
This plate, like other IdeaFormer plates I've tried, works. It's well constructed, and my builds had no problem sticking to the PEY side. The star pattern is attractive; certainly it'll be a favorite with tween daughters.
Why not five stars? Well, it'd be far better if it came with printed barcodes for the X1C... on the textured PEI side if nothing else. And for some reason, unlike other IdeaFormer plates, this one didn't come with the instruction sheet telling you the essentials: clean with dish soap and brush before use, use the "smooth PEI plate" preset in Bambu Studio/OrcaSlicer for the PEY side. That'd make it perfect.
But if Amazon let me give 4.5 stars, I would. This is absolutely a good plate to buy. It gives you a nice novelty pattern AND a spare textured build plate. Recommended.
CamReviewed in the United States on December 20, 20241.0 out of 5 stars Cheap and janky. Hardly works without grief.
Colour Name: Smooth H1hSize: 257x257Verified PurchaseWhile the concept here is cool, they really cheap'd out on the material and fabrication of these plates. These don't just work with the X1C out of the box. There's all sorts of crap you've got to do to get them to even begin to work, and most of the time your prints will fail anyway. It doesn't matter how much you clean these stupid things, either. Even after cleaning with 99% IPA and wearing rubber gloves to handle the plate, it still has about a 10% success rate, and the successes look like crap because it's usually dragging strings around that didn't adhere. These are lazily fabricated. I'd wait until someone is releasing these with QR codes that the X1C recognizes and the adhesion issues have been sorted out. Other prismatic PEI plates that actually work are coated with something that increases adhesion. You can physically feel that these plates do not have that. They are always smooth to the touch, never tacky, which is the opposite of what you want.
Yes, I've gone through all the troubleshooting forums online about these stupid things and tried every recommendation. The only time I've had a successful print is after doing the following:
1) Put the textured PEI plate on
2) Calibrate a print to the textured PEI plate
3) Change the plates
4) Turn off the "Enable plate detection" setting (if you don't do this it NEVER works)
5) Set up your print with the Smooth PEI Plate selection
6) Turn on a minimum of 7mm outer brims
7) Increase plate heat to at least 50C
7) Make sure to enable bed leveling and extrusion calibration when sending to the printer
8) Watch closely and MANUALLY REMOVE all of the strings from the hot end that don't adhere to the plate, before it starts printing the part(s)
9) Pray that the first layer adheres
10) Stop print and repeat 9 more times until it works, because it definitely didn't work the first time
FunovationReviewed in the United States on October 24, 20235.0 out of 5 stars This is PURE 3D Printer MAGIC!!!
Colour Name: Smooth Pey+textured PeiSize: 257x257Verified PurchaseI had played with the patterned build plates before. They will imprint a bunch of lines in different directions and make the surface look faceted. It is a cool affect, but it is pretty easy to see how it is working. THIS, on the other hand, is pure magic!!! The plate is very colorful with rainbow dots and stars. If you shine an intense light from a flashlight, the effect is even stronger. But who knew it could actually be transferred to the bottom surface of the 3D print!!! This works great! At first I thought that it did not do it, but then under the right angle, the part sparkled with rainbow dots and stars. I tried clear at first-- it was ok-- but a bit hard to see. I then tried black and the pattern was even easier to see. My first print was not that smooth, so I adjusted my build plate a little closer to get a better smear on the build plate and the next one came out looking EXACTLY like the build plate!!! I was amazed! I handed it to several of my coworkers and they were amazed as well. We put it under a microscope and could not see any clues as to how it was working. The stars and dots just appear to float on the surface of the plastic. One thing we heard was that if oil from your hands gets on the surface, the pattern can go away. But, a soft cloth with Isopropyl alcohol takes the oil away and the surface was to completely covered in rainbow dots again. Now I think that I need to find a bunch of cool things to print where the bottom surface is the display surface! So cool! Maybe a communicator shirt pin….
1st picture is a clear print, 2nd picture is with black and the 3rd was a close-up. It is really hard to take a picture of just how really cool this looks.
Hope this helps.

He says that they are extremely nice and that he has been wanting some like that for a while. He loves the hologramic and kaleidoscope like effects on them. He says that they will be really good for his 3D printer. Definitely a great buy and I'm glad I got them.
