Product Description

I’m a blogger. He’s a writer.
He was my weakness.
I was his muse.

Once upon a time my marriage was built on love...
Until it wasn’t.

Where had we gone wrong?
I had given up hope…

But then he messaged me,
And his words intoxicated me.
Made me believe in love again.

Made me believe in truth.
My imperfect truth…

Life isn't perfect. Life is messy. Love is tough. Relationships aren't built in a day, but can be destroyed much faster.

Debut novel by Ava Harrison makes you realise all of these things, and much more. It wasn't sugar-coated. It was gut-wrenching, and realistic. I couldn't stop turning the pages. It deals with a subject that I hate to read about... but the cover, I just couldn't turn away. I am SO glad I gave this emotional Journey a chance!!!!!!!!!!

Ava Harrison's words seep under your skin. You will feel the heroine's desperation, her resilience, her inner strength and that is what you WILL remember from this story, by this incredible author!

Thank you Ava Harrison for writing something so gut-wrenching and heart-felt, that I felt like I was on a Journey with a friend!!

I hope she writes more!!!!

HASH(0x9ccd8cc0) out of 5 stars You have to read this to actually realize how amazing this book is!!! May 16 2015

I think this book was amazingly written. I think if this book was read by more husbands and wives, a lot of heartache like this could be avoided for many couples. The author did an incredible job with the story-line and she portrayed the characters in the story brilliantly. There was, just enough mystery, drama, intrigue, sorrow and heartfelt love sprinkled in just the right doses throughout this story to completely captivate me. I could not stop reading this book, even when my eyes were burning and screaming for me to shut them last night. I was NOT going to sleep without finding how this story was going to end. There were a couple of quotes in this story that will stay with me for the rest of my life! The first one being, "The road to forgiving yourself is the hardest journey to take." There is so much truth to that statement. And the second one, which is the one that affected me the most is, "Sometimes we have to get lost, to be found." I think this is a book that Mothers should buy for all of their daughters and sons when they decide to embark into the arduous journey that comes with marriage. Marriage is more than saying I do and living together and building a life and family with each other. There are many ups and downs, highs and lows in a marriage but there is nothing that a couple cannot overcome, and this story proves it. There is so much more than infidelity to this book. Maybe before couple's are allowed to get a marriage license they should both be required to read this book and then have one session with a couples counselor to discuss it. Maybe then people wouldn't feel that marriage is disposable and that it shouldn't be tossed away at the first sign of trouble. Also if every household had this book in it on a shelf, maybe issues would never get to this point before a couple is able to apply the logic in this book mend the little tears in their relationship before time can make that little tear into a huge hole. This is Ms. Harrison's debut novel and it is one she can definitely take pride in. Amazing job!

HASH(0x9c9a2894) out of 5 stars "What do you want from me?" "Everything." May 12 2015
By Lisa - A Risque' Affair Book Blog - Published on
Format: Kindle Edition
"I've always struggled to find where I belong, but how can I belong somewhere when I don't fit anywhere?"

I don't think I've raved this much about a book in a long time. Sure, I find books I love, but this one... it just hit a little too close to home, with me.

"... the road to forgiving yourself is the hardest journey to take."

You start with Ava who is struggling in her marriage and in her life. The spark has disappeared and she finds herself just going through the motions. She runs a successful book blog and is an avid reader, which helps her pass the time... until... Ryder. He's a popular erotic romance author who has all the right words. He fills in her cracks, but at what price?

"I'm not perfect. I'm perfectly flawed. A beautiful painting from afar, but up close you can see my cracks and bruises."

I absolutely LOVED this book. There were times when I felt like Ava was writing my story. Some parts of this book were from such an honest place that it gutted me. It is exactly what I needed to read at exactly the right time. You will make mistakes in life. That is absolutely certain. You will fall more times than you can keep track of. Your success isn't measured in how many times you mess up, but how you live and learn and keep moving forward. Your failures don't define you. Repeat that to yourself. Your. Failures. Don't. Define. You.

"Sometimes we have to get lost to be found."

Yes, the story is about a blogger who falls for an author, but there's a bigger message. Want to know the secret to happiness? Take a look in the mirror. The person looking back holds the key.

I would give this more than 5 stars if I could. Thank you Ava Harrison for being brave and putting this book out.

HASH(0x9ccdaf00) out of 5 stars Good Concept, it was an ok read Aug. 16 2015

I read the blurb for Imperfect Truth and thought,”What an original idea”. I one-clicked it on release day and started with excitement on where the story will be heading. I love the concept of the story. I thought it was pretty cool that the author name the heroine after herself.

Ava Harrison was a successful blogger who happened to slowly become obsess with an author named Ryder Matthews. Ava had so many things going on in her life that I thought it contributed to her wondering outside of her marriage life.

You don't know a lot about Ryder besides him being a successful author. He came across as a user and only wanted to talk to Ava about how to promote his books.
I did not like him one bit.

I could see everything that was coming Ava's way. I felt that she was blinded and refused to acknowledge a lot of things that Ryder did and said. I even questioned Ava's sanity a lot of times. Ava's behavior was that of a teenager rather than an adult.

I found myself skimming through the story. I was a little bored at times but kept reading to see how the story would end.
Overall, it was an OK story. I didn't fall in love with any of the characters and found the story a little bland. Good first attempt but it wasn't something I was over the moon about.

HASH(0x9ccdaf6c) out of 5 stars Painfully real May 15 2016

My goodness this story is so painful to read. A woman has lost touch with her husband who ignores her. His ice cold mother belittling her every move. Her mother wasting away with early Alzheimer's. Her father left years before. As she is experiencing this void a man comes into her life and she feels alive and cherished. Unfortunately broken people break other people. I didn't expect such an interesting and thought provoking read. Ms Harrison has created a wonderful story. Her use of a narcissistic personality for one of the characters is timely. We must remember that sometimes we can't see what's in front of us and the damage others create.
Absolutely get this book!

HASH(0x9c9fa6c0) out of 5 stars Make it stop, seriously. June 25 2015

Oh somebody help me figure this out. WHAT is with all these 5 star reviews?! The writing is terrrrrible. All telling, no showing, WAY too many adjectives and just ugh. No. Stop. MAKE IT STOP. We have a horrible marriage (but the heroine is horribly spineless and can't do anything about it), inconsistent characterization and a flimsy plot. I just...I can't. And yes, a HUGE part of this is that I was incredibly excited about this book and the premise and it was just awful. The hero and heroine IM each other like they're 14 years old, honestly, what about this is supposed to be appealing? This book has sophomoric writing, and it's a shame, bc the idea is promising.
