Reader discretion is advised. The main character uses an unconventional coping mechanism that, while very real, may be disturbing to some readers. Mature audiences only, please.

Eighteen year old Tatum Krause wants nothing more than to finish her senior year without any more drama. After the near overdose of her drug abusing mother the previous year, she moved out in the hopes of making something better for herself. However, the week before her final year, she ends up needing the help of a sexy stranger who's about to flip her world on its axis.

Jacoby Ryan only wants one thing: to forget his past. The last two years have been filled with empty feelings and women in an attempt to stem the heartache and guilt. He's ghosted blindly through the motions until late one night he finds a car stalled on the side of an empty highway, where he meets a beautiful girl with a haunted look in her eyes.

She has a secret, but so does he. Despite their magnetic pull, the two come to the shocking revelation their relationship isn't so black and white. Is it possible to fight a bone-deep attraction when the entire universe is telling you it's wrong?

"When faced with the ultimate decision, you have two choices. Embrace the situation or get the (sic) out of dodge." Tatum in Indisputable by A.M. Wilson

When I read the synopsis for this debut, I was intrigued. I was surprised the author reached out to me with a galley for review.

#1 This is the author's debut novel.
#2 Stories of forbidden love deemed by society make me weak at the knees.
#3 I have a thirst for unique fresh stories that immerse me in with the characters and keep me there until the last page is turned.

Indisputable is the story of an eighteen year old high-school student who has experienced a rough start in life. Eighteen and emancipated in her parents, Tatum is a goal-oriented sassy, spunky, and often angsty senior with good grades, who also holds a full-time job working forty hours a week at a Senior Living Center in Minnesota. Living on her own leaves her to own devices, often seeking shelter from her solace with the wrong choice of company. Despite her young age, she is a very mature individual and understanding of her surroundings, as well as the consequences of her own actions. To deal with her trauma, she resorts to a not-often-discussed-enough type of coping mechanism. What that is - well, you will have to read the novel to find out. One night she is stranded by the side of the road and a kind, good samaritan comes to her aid.

Jacoby Ryan is a sweet kind man with a heart made of gold, who happens to be a teacher, and alike Tatum he comes with a past full of heart-break and pain. He meets our heroine and offers her a ride home when her car breaks down. Before doing so, he buys her dinner and is enthralled by her from the get-go. After dinner and a panty-combusting kiss, they go their separate ways.

Indisputable by A.M. Wilson is a story about a High School senior, Tatum Krause, and a math teacher, Mr. Jacoby Ryan, and the entire universe telling you it could be wrong

Tatum is more grown up than any typical high school senior. She was emancipated from her mother at 17; now at 18 she works a full-time job as a CNA at the local nursing home. She is high school senior full-time taking college-level classes with the inspiration to graduate early so she can get started on her future and the need to leave the small-town in which she grew up. One Night she goes out for a drive and her Honda decides that at that moment it wants to breakdown, a vehicle stops to check on her and that is when her whole world changes forever

Excerpt for Indisputable:
"Look at me" I don't comply. His index finger caresses the smooth side of my neck before he clasps my chin between his forefinger and thumb. He tilts my face until I met his eyes. "Tatum," he paused. I'm beginning to pant. This is ridiculous; guys don't affect me like this. "I'm going to kiss you"

Mr. Ryan is a math teacher at the local high school, who at a younger age loss the love of his life in an accident with a drunk driver; he left the west coast in search of trying to learn to live again and learn to live without the guilt of feeling responsible for the loss of Hailey. Starting a fresh new life in a small-town 2 years ago everything has been deeply locked inside until he drives upon a young lady in distress on the side of the road

Excerpt for Indisputable:

"Sorry, sorry I'm late," he says as he rushed to his desk. Nice first impression. When I glance up from resituating my book bag, my breath catches. Oh no. No, no, no. Dammit! What deity did I manage to piss off to deserve this? My Ryan is Ryan

This book will hook you!! It will keep you interested to the very end!! The "unspokens" of society of a student and a teacher was actually an amazing story of 2 young individuals going against society but for all the right reasons, they helped each other dealing with loss and trust and the need to harm one’s Self. This author did a great job at portraying both his/ her POV’s. If you love a good book about a bone deep attraction when the universe tells you it’s wrong, this is a must read, I LOVED the story.

HASH(0xb4f9a5b0) out of 5 stars good student/teacher romance April 16 2015

The fact that it was a teacher student romance did not bother me as the heroine Tatum was 18 years old and not inexperienced and Jacoby was still in his twenties. They have good chemistry and the smex scenes reflect it. I liked jealous possessive protective heroes and Jacoby is. I liked that they were faithful to each other and that there were no long separations, which I dislike. I always want the hero to have loved the heroine more than any other woman but in this case it did not bother me that he loved his fiance as much as the heroine as she was no longer part of his life and he was able to love the heroine as much. A reviewer mentioned that they never get caught in a moment of passion and that was nice. I agree. Most of the teacher/student romances I read includes that as an element and I think it is unnecessary. I thought the actions of Tatum's prior friends with benefits actions after the relationship ended were unlikely. It did not seem to fit that he would act the way he did, regardless of the fact that he was drunk and/or high. I thought the scene that included him doing those things to her was not needed and detracted from the romance and the hero and heroines other problems. They already had enough to deal with without adding that trigger. I was fine with the HFN ending but it there is another book, making this a series, I want it to be about another couple with the Tatum and Jacoby as secondary characters.

HASH(0xa6736be8) out of 5 stars Exactly what you expect it to be. Nov. 2 2015

This is a pretty average soft-core student/teacher illicit romance book. I've seen it done better, but I've also seen it done a lot worse. You probably know exactly what you're getting if you download this book, and you won't be surprised or disappointed - a meet-cute, some obstacles, some repressed passion, then some actual passion, some artificial conflict, true-love-in-spite-of-the-odds, etc. The author makes it a bit less squicky by having the student be 18 and the teacher be early 20s but is still obviously trying to invoke the titillation of the forbidden romance because it really isn't necessary - the book could be 90% the same if she were a college student.

The characters have every trauma known to mankind thrown at them (dead relatives, addiction, psychological problems, sexual assault, illicit romance, jealousy due to incorrect assumptions, etc) but they never really amount to much of anything or give the characters any depth. In fact, most of the conflict resolution is haphazard and unbelievable - the teacher never really agonizes over having an inappropriate relationship with a student, he never worries about keeping an assault a secret despite being a mandatory reporter, the female lead bounces back from her traumas immediately and suddenly solves her long-seated trust and cutting issues without any sort of help (much less therapy), etc. I guess it makes sense if you realize that its all filler to get to the naughty bits.

It's a beach read - it won't tax your brain, there are lots of "heaving bosoms" and "throbbing manhood", and you have to believe they fall in love despite any evidence that they actually like each other. Go in with the right attitude and you'll probably enjoy it.

I loved this book. When A.M. Wilson asked us to review this book the blurb intrigued me but I don’t think I really knew the emotions that this book would bring out in me. I felt it all, the sadness, the hurt, the pain, the guilt but also the happiness and the love. Indisputable is a story about a forbidden love between two broken people finding each other and healing in the process. This is A.M. Wilson's debut novel and she did an amazing job.

Tatum is just an 18 year old girl but she has experienced more hurt in those 18 years than most. She had a mother who loved drugs and men more than her. She has had a horrible childhood and about a year ago she was basically left to take care of herself. Because of all this Tatum has had to grow up quickly. She is not a normal 18 year old girl. She works full time while also attending high school so that one day she can get out of this small town and be something. She’s on her own, and never really knew what it felt to love someone or be loved, or what it feels like for someone to take care of her. Until Jacoby Ryan came along.

Jacoby is in his own world of hurt. He came to this town two years ago to escape his own past and the guilt that goes along with it. He meets Tatum on the side of the road one night when her car breaks down. They spend some time together that night and there seems to be this instant chemistry. But when the night ends Tatum is quick to run away leaving Jacoby to wonder what happened and if he will ever see her again. They eventually meet again but due to the circumstances of that meeting any chance of them being together is gone because Tatum has just become completely off limits to Jacoby.

No matter how wrong it is to think about Tatum he cannot help himself. She is different than the girl he met that night but he also sees that she has walls up and wants to know why. As time goes on they begin to spend more time together and start falling for each other. They are both so broken inside ad have bother coped with their pain in different ways. But as they start to open up to each other they start to form a bond. Add to that bond the physical attraction and neither one of them can help themselves. But being together can cost them both so much ad they have to decide if their relationship and feelings for each other is worth the risk.

Tatum and Jacoby went through so many struggles, both individually and as a couple. It certainly was not an easy ride for them. But when they were together it just felt right, no matter how wrong it was. They helped each other heal and to live again. Being with Jacoby felt safe for Tatum. I loved these two so much. My heart broke for the both of them and what they went through but Tatum, that poor girl. She has been through so much already and to have to do it all on her own would break most people. She was strong and determined and I admired her so much and understood her fears. Jacoby (sigh), what can I say about this amazing, sweet, caring man. There was just something about Tatum that drew him in and he he just wanted to help her. He wanted to be there for her, to protect her and keep her safe and just take care of her. He was everything that Tatum needed. And when he called her sweetheart I completely melted EVERY single time.

This book brought out so many emotions in me. There are some tough topics in this book that are dealt with but the author did an amazing job with touching upon those issues. I cannot even explain my feelings while reading this book. When you read a book and feel every emotion that the characters feel, whether it be hurt, heartache, happiness or pain it has everything to do with the words on the page and how they are written. And Ms. Wilson wrote this book in a way where I constantly felt it. There are happy moments where I just smiled and my heart melted. There are moments where I got choked up and felt the hurt of these characters. And I also felt the love between them. Even when Jacoby would become frustrated with Tatum you just felt how much he cared for her and the impact that she had on him. So when I say I felt emotions, yes I meant I felt it ALL!!!.

Tatum and Jacoby’s story is a beautiful one. They found each other at a time in their life when they needed it the most. They learned to heal and live again and they did together. And I have to point out that there is one supporting character in this book that I really hope gets his own story. Trey is Jacoby's best friend and I loved him. He deserves his own happily ever after and hope he gets it.

HASH(0xa581b090) out of 5 stars Absolutely adored this book!! A definite must read!! March 17 2015
By A. Grayson - Published on

***Received from author in exchange for an honest review.***

I absolutely adored this book. We meet Tatum and Ryan at the beginning of the book when Ryan stops to help a stranded Tatum. From the very get go there is an attraction between the two. Sparks fly, but they still go there separate ways. When they meet again they are in a situation where nothing can become of their mutual attraction. Animosity develops, but the heat still rises between them.

Tatum has not had a very good life up to that point. I can't spoil it for anyone but let's just say that Tatum has a good reason for being the jaded person she is. She's very smart and works hard but there is a sadness to her as well. Because of what life has handed her she has had to become hard and unwilling to let people in.

Ryan is such a sweetheart, most of the time. Because of the desire he holds for Tatum and not being able to do anything about it, not to mention her attitude, he can come across as not so nice at times. He can sense that Tatum has had an easy life and wants nothing more than to help her, if only she would let him. He holds his own secrets as well. Secrets that has caused him to hold back when letting people in.

What we have is a love story that seems impossible. Two people that carry secrets and are scared to trust. What Tatum goes through, and what she ultimately puts herself through, is heartbreaking. And Ryan, his past is just as devastating. I loved these two characters. The writing was absolutely suburb. It's hard to imagine that this is the authors first book. I was totally amazed at how well it was written. I can't wait to read more from this author! Job definitely well done!
