One glance bound their souls—a single touch empowered them to remember they’d loved each other before…lifetimes ago.
*****
Willow’s waking hours are plagued by her ability to sense the emotions of those both living and dead. Sleep is her only escape from this terrible insight. Her dreams are shared in blissful silence with a stunning blue-eyed boy who can steal her breath with a glance. Unexpectedly, an ominous figure invades her blissed dreams leaving behind an omen which follows her into the waking world. Willow has no choice but to set herself on a momentous path through light and darkness, through fragmented myth and half-truths. What she finds will force her to make a decision that will change her world forever.

An incredible series! The fictional story is fantastic, however, the genius lies in the weaving of real-world spirituality, universal truths (laws), accurate astrolgy, and Quantum Theory. The wisdom is phenomenal. It reminds me of James Redfield and Dan Millman, albeit for a younger audience, which is high praise. Having said this, my disappointment lies in the frequent spelling and grammatical errors throughout the books. This is worrisome because many people erroneously think if it is written in a book, it must be correct. Because these books hold powerful truths and wisdom, it would be a relief if the errors and grammar were corrected, and the books updated to honour that. This series is too good to be tainted by publishing errors! Other than that, the work is fabulous; an exciting blend of absolute refreshment, compelling and true wisdom and fantastical story-telling. Jamie magee, awesome work, but please update the errors. This series is just too good, with so much powerful wisdom, for anything to draw away from it.

HASH(0x9efaf7b0) out of 5 stars A superb young adult fantasy tale... Aug. 18 2010
By Stacey aka Coffey Brown - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Kindle Edition
Insight by Jamie Magee was an interesting read. The creative fantasy tale focuses on power, family, true love and extreme trust. The journey begins with Willow, a teenage girl, suffering from nightmares who learns the truth about who she truly is. As long as she can remember she has suffered from dreams where she is frightened awake never clearly seeing the person's face that terrorizes her. However, she does hold onto the image of a very handsome man that appears in her dreams as well.

After one of her agonizing nightmares, Willow's parents inform her of her true existence and the mystical powers that lie within. It is then that she realizes that she is more than a teenage girl and her dreams, too, may also be real. What I like the most about the story is the depths that the characters go to find, love and protect each other. Once they meet, I envy the peace that overcomes them. The love they share with their families and soulmates is the very foundation of their existence.

After being informed of her abilities, Willow also finds that she has a soul mate who has searched a life time to find her. Before they can truly be together their love is interrupted by a sinister force similar to the visions in her nightmares. It is then that Willow, who has found peace, must fight the force to reclaim the love she has just found.

I highly recommend this fantasy book to young adults. It is a book that holds your interests from the first page to the last. The journey and triumphs that ensue are a tribute to the author's superb storytelling ability as each character, scene and battle comes to life. I only give the book four stars due to the editorial issues I found along the way. The story comes through vividly despite the errors but there are enough to make them noticeable and sometimes distracting.

HASH(0x9efd77e0) out of 5 stars Dull, dull, dull Aug. 26 2012
By K. Simmons - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Kindle Edition
The story started out with an interesting premise...but then the author apparently didn't know what cool things to do with it. So she didn't.

As others have pointed out, none of the characters are believable or have any depth to them.

The heroine is constantly running off angry/upset/crying. The hero is dull as dirt (but he's always loved her :-) They go to a supposedly perfect world...but everyone gets mad there because everyone else is keeping secrets from everyone. And the secrets? Why were they kept secret? Even the explanations were silly.

Heck, there are waaaaay too many characters...period. Certainly far too many characters for the author to not bother making sure they were all developed sufficiently so that her readers could keep them straight.

I personally got soooo tired of "I've always loved you." "I've always loved you, too." "I've always loved you." "I've always loved you, too." "I've always loved you." "I've always loved you, too." "I've always loved you." "I've always loved you, too." "I've always loved you." "I've always loved you, too." "I've always loved you." "I've always loved you, too."

And, yes...it DOES happen like that. Constantly! It's incredibly annoying.

The string travel was boring, yet the characters couldn't just go from Point A to Point B. No...we always had to hear "details". Frankly, I didn't care what colors they were seeing after the umpteenth trip. And neither will you.

The big finale? It wasn't exciting or meaningful. It just...was.

Well, it had a couple of "twists" with absolutely no setup in the rest of the book for them. (Oh, let me correct that. Just before the grand finale...practically at the end of the book...one of the lesser earth characters notices that Marc looks just like Drake, the bad guy. And no one else could notice this??? In a world where apparently all the other guys have deep dimples and blue eyes, no one who'd ever seen Drake noticed this??? Gimme a break. Even a "Hmmm, Marc looks familiar somehow" would have been better than the nothing we got.

Frankly, all the finale turned out to be was the setup for a series. But, trust me. I won't read any more, even if they're all available for free. I had to force myself to finish *this* book because it got so repetitive and dull.

By the way, I lent this to a teenage neighbor...wondering what she would think of it. She later summed it up perfectly by rolling her eyes and saying "that was stupid." She couldn't even finish it.

There are too many *good* books out there to read to waste time on boring books. Sadly, this is one of the boring ones.

Insight was an amazing read. If you like the Zodiac and the mystical you will love this book. It has a good story line that keeps you interested from the fist chapter to the very last. It will leave you wanting to find out what happens to your favorite charters. It is a must read for any young adult.

HASH(0x9ef9fa44) out of 5 stars Unique plot but weak characters June 20 2011
By Amazon Customer - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Paperback
Willow has always been able to sense people's emotions. She also sees images of people who are in distress, and helps them get past the emotion they are currently feeling. She also dreams every night: sometimes they are nightmares about a dark boy, and sometimes they are pure love filled fantasies with her soul mate. After she is marked on the wrist during a nightmare her family reveals a huge secret to her. Now she must master her powers in order to save everyone she holds dear.

While the idea of the story is unique, I had a hard time connecting. The fact that her family secret was kept from her for 18 years, I didn't believe it would be possible. The secret is too far out there.

Willow's responses to everything left me unconvinced. I have a hard time believing she would not resist and question all the revelations more. She seemed to only require a few minutes before accepting and moving on. This may make sense near the end of the story when surprises are expected, but the first few times? It doesn't seem likely.

One thing that really stuck out to me was how clean the romance portion is. There is some kissing, but there doesn't seem to be any alluding to or mention of sex. Not even when the couple lives together. This is especially surprising since a large portion of the story relates to love, romance and relationships. This is definitely a romance story most people will feel comfortable letting younger teens read.

Overall, I found this to be a unique storyline, but it was lacking in realism within the characters. As a fantasy story, I expected some situations to require suspension of belief, but the characters still need to feel real, with believable responses and emotions.

HASH(0x9f233d50) out of 5 stars Needs a lot more editing. Aug. 1 2013

Edit much? It was so full of mistakes that I had a hard time reading it. I found myself rolling my eyes at the misuse of words and misspelled words that were in almost every paragraph. And give the semicolons a rest already. It was very slow and after the first couple of chapters it went downhill fast. I had a hard time finishing it. Sadly, I won't be reading anymore in this series.
