Lisa's journey to healthy lifestyle and inspiring others to follow this path began on a night when Lisa got a life changing call from her friend Jane. Jane, was Lisa's best friend in highschool and they had made plans to hang out that night However, this call was not about their plans, but something far worse. Jane told Lisa over the phone that she had been diagnosed with Hodgkin's Lymphoma. The two girls who usually couldn't stop talking were speechless. Lisa broke into tears for fear of Jane's condition. Lisa didn't know then that this moment in time would change her life for ever, and set her down her path of healthy living and motivating others to do the same.
Lisa was inspired by her friend Jane Knight, who two years after her diagnosis passed away from Hodgkins's Lymphoma. Hodgkin's Lymphoma is a cancer that starts in the lymphocytes and spreads until the disease takes over the lymphatic system, which is responsible for vital distributing liquids throughout the body. This emotional heartbreak ultimately inspired Lisa to take a proactive approach to a healthier life style and influence the people in her life.
"Inspire Me Well" is an emotionally charged read with encouraging stories and perspectives from the people who have touched Lisa's life and how she has touched their lives in return. The book is structured with short stories from real people who have touched Lisa's life and made serious life changes of their own. Stories from a Mom who started running to support her five-year-old Son's fight against cancer, to the seventy-three-year-old man who decided he no longer wanted to be obese.Read more ›

With several breathtaking stories from ordinary people whose lives have made them challenge themselves to cope with different barriers, this book will take you through the journey of health with very practical tips that show that it is never too late to start changing your lifestyle. It is very encouraging and inspirational and I can undoubtedly say that it is the first book I read which shows that it is indeed POSSIBLE and what it is more important, EASY, to find solutions to problems we are usually concerned about such as weight loss, coping with a disease, finding motivation to start exercising and eating healthy, etc.
All in all, I can say that it is a remarkable and stunning compilation of stories that demonstrate that it is never too late to challenge ourselves and to think big about what we can achieve in our life. Therefore, the message I can take out of this book is that anyone that is willing to start living a healthier, more balanced and thus, more fulfilling life can start doing so from scratch.
I personally had the chance to meet Lisa Belanger and I know how fully committed she is to the work she is doing. I am completely sure that this book will just be the beginning of an extraordinary career that will have a very significant influence on the life of many ordinary people that just like me before reading this book, usually forget about the importance of finding the right balance between the stress and work of our daily routines and a healthy lifestyle.
I would like to personally thank Lisa for inspiring me to start taking my daily training routine seriously and for making me actually addicted to it. My next goal: running a half marathon in four months and I cannot believe that I, such a lazy person who could not follow the same physical exercise routine for more than a month, am actually so looking forward to it!
Enter Lisa and Inspire Me Well! What a truly wonderful book. She connects the dots between attitude and wellness in an easy to read, down to earth fashion. With a perfect balance between inspirational real life stories and scientific proofs, she validated everything that I intuitively believed.
Whether you are absolutley well, diagnosed with cancer (or any illness for that matter) or know someone who is -- this is truly a book you should read. You will learn positive tactics how to take control of your health and more importantly, you will be inspired to do so!
