This CPU runs very fast and yet cool with my XFX 750i MB. I haven't OC'd it yet but it has plenty of power running at stock speed. It's a pretty old CPU but still runs faster than some of the new Core 2 Duo out there. If you are on a limited budget but still wants some power in your CPU, this is the one for you. I highly recommend it to others.

HASH(0x9cff3d50) out of 5 stars Great dual core CPU Dec 16 2011
By JJCEO - Published on Amazon.com
I purchased this CPU because I had a good motherboard laying around with a LGA775 socket. This Dual Core Intel CPU features a 3 MB Cache memory and clocks at 2.93 GHz. I installed it into a media center build and this is a fast CPU. It runs cool (for an Intel chip) and it is easy to overclock.

This CPU makes a good server or media center and is available at a good price. I used Windows 7 operating system and a Gigabyte mother board. This CPU is a solid performer!

HASH(0x9de34840) out of 5 stars Darn Good, even for gaming Dec 16 2010
By Code Monkey - Published on Amazon.com
This little two core processor has a lot of balls, good cache, fast fsb and runs pretty cool. I use my PC for home entertainment and gaming. Most of my cards are fairly high end (Soundblaster Platinum X-Fi, GTS-450 video, 1024 MB of Ram on my PNY graphics card, this little guy doesn't heat up, although the cooling fan makes some noise.

Today I played MOH for 3 hours and did I see cpu heat, well no. I do have a cooling sensor attached and AVG system guard just to keep it all in check. All goes well, sure it could use more cache and a faster FSB, but this is not a $350 cpu, it is a really torquing cpu at a fair price.

HASH(0x9cff3dc8) out of 5 stars Great upgrade from a 3 GHz Pentium IV-HT Aug. 8 2013

Purchased this as an upgrade for an old ECS 945-GCT-M v3.0 mainboard. Old processor was a Pentium IV-HT. Had to flash the bios, but this new dual core runs at the same clock, but performs twice as fast due to dual core and larger cache. Highly recommended affordable upgrade.

HASH(0x9cff3fb4) out of 5 stars Good Chip for the Money Nov. 29 2010
By Vedran Simic - Published on Amazon.com
I have been a custom computer builder for over 5 years now, I have been running AMD ever since i could build my own computer. When i was looking at upgrading my computer, i wanted to go for something different. So i checked out Intel to see what they have to offer. I stumbled upon this CPU and for the price, you really cannot complain. I went from a Phenom x3 8450 to this CPU and truthfully, this CPU is actually faster, even though its a dual core. It does run a bit hotter then my old AMD, but it does gain in performance. When I used to have Win7 installed on my old AMD, i was getting about a 6.2 rating, this one is at 6.4. So its not a significant increase, but you have to remember, its a 3 core CPU vs. a 2 core CPU.

The only Con I have for this CPU, is that it run hot, even though its a 45nm chip. With the stock cooler from Intel, i was getting around 60 degree's Celsius. I upgraded the stock one to a Zalman 9500NT and it dropped about 10 degree's. So i would suggest definitely getting a better cooler then the one that it comes with.

Over all, If you guys are looking for a budget computer, this CPU will be a good pick to go for.
