I have long enjoyed Dan Hill's music but had gotten out of touch with it somewhat over the years. Since I am female, "Unborn Heart" was always a "fave" and even set to home video's of expectant mom and early days of birthing! Now Dan continues to "follow my life" as I am also at the point of elderly parents and the end stage of life - so the emotion captured in the loss of a parent and the comfort found in experiencing it alongside another understanding person are also helpful. Then, of course, where would we be without the wonderful, Intimate (Digi)passionate songs? Isn't it great to still have passion in your life even though we are getting "older"!? Love it! The music thrills my soul and keeps romancing me!

HASH(0xa18e2690) out of 5 stars The man is back and ever more intimate Nov. 16 2011
By Jim Clark - Published on
By Jim Clark, publisher, Lee County Courier, Tupelo, MS

I was listening to Dan Hill's intimate tales back in the mid-70s before I truly understood what I was singing about. He touched the Top 40 twice -- "Sometimes When We Touch" and "Can't We Try," a duet with Vonda Shepard.
But, as always, I was beyond the radio, I clung to the lyrical wonders of songs like "14 Today," "Longer Fuse," and "Frozen in the Night."
The native of Canada is back with Intimate, which includes new songs and remakes of some of his best including "Sometimes When We Touch."
Dan explained why he redid his most famous piece, "What I was really curious about beyond the literal song was `How could I sing it now as opposed to then,' I just wanted to show people - maybe I'm wrong - that I can still really sing. I can sing better than I ever have before: My intonation is way better; my timing; my phrasing; there's a lot more expression; I feel it's a more lived-in, soulful voice."
I was especially drawn to the open heart tunes "Sixties Child," "I Am My Father's Son" and "The Human Spark."
Dan, now 57-years-old, still can string words together as well as he did in his prime and that voice, it's still there -- strong and resonate as ever.
Dan sounds actually surprised that fans haven't forgotten him and still want more.
"It just made me realize `Wow, people still kind of like the way I sing.'"

HASH(0xa18e2a74) out of 5 stars Dan Hill in Singapore July 2 2012

I just came from an intimate concert w Dan Hill. Before listening to him tonight, the only song I know from his catalogue was naturally " Sometimes when we touch". Well tonight after listening to him and the way he told his life story through his songs I have to agree he is a great story teller thru his songs. I will be getting this and all his other CDs to make up for all the years in between when I missed getting acquainted with this man and his music. Great concert Dan and truly appreciate the way you shared your story with us through the rendition of your songs

HASH(0xa18f1a08) out of 5 stars His music got me through very rough times Dec 7 2013

I discovered Dan Hill's music when he wrote for Days of Our Lives. It was an immediate love affair with his voice, his compassion, and his talent! I hope he continues with his music for years to come for it will be a very sad day for millions if he ever stops writing and singing. His songs have gotten me through some very rough times and for that I will forever be grateful. I wish I could personally thank him but hopefully this will reach him so he will know how important his music is to me. Thank you, Dan Hill, for your beautiful talent. Dianne Johansson
