Product Description

“He is the most beautiful man you will ever see. His soul will capture you, but don’t be fooled, Mi Corazon. He will use all his powers to draw you in when there is nothing left to do but take the one thing you’ve been holding on to.”

What began as an affair seven years earlier has since become a tragic love story, a tale of two souls fighting to be together with only their love to guide them. But as people make mistakes, they find themselves once again reliving the past, asking the questions that have remained unanswered. Until now.

Charlie Mason fought hard to rebuild her life and find love again. When the ever-so-perfect Julian Baker proposes marriage, she leaves the past behind her to plan a future with him. Then, in a cruel twist of fate, her past and future collide. Broken and scarred, Charlie is forced to face him once again, the dark angel who took the one thing she had been holding on to—her fragile heart.

Lex Edwards has other ideas. He wants her back and will stop at nothing, even when he realizes the Charlie he knew in high school has changed. She is a game player, and forgiveness is not on her agenda. A dark past threatens their future and the only way to overcome it is to relive the memories. Lex must take her back into the darkness.

HASH(0xa4b359cc) out of 5 stars Worst book ever! DO NOT BUY!!!! Aug. 11 2014

I don't understand the 5 star reviews for this! I've read tons of books in this genre and this one is the worst I've ever read! I couldn't even finish it and I hate not finishing a story! First off, this author has given us the most despicable H/h ever written! I hate cheating dirtbags and that's what the H/h are! He cheats on his wife w/ the h, cuz he's unhappy that she's putting pressure on him to have babies and he feels he's too young! Well grow a pair & get divorced if that's a deal breaker! Don't fool around with ur lil sis's 18 yr old bff! I couldn't believe the words "u told me u weren't sleeping with ur wife" came out of the h's mouth, when they're inevitably caught in their disgusting affair! Then yrs later they are reunited and the h is now engaged to a hot, Christian Bale look-alike, who worships the ground she walks on AND yup, the H/h start fooling around again! This is where I had to stop! This cheating biyotch has the audacity to have sex with the H while her loving fiancé is in the next room! After that scene, I couldn't go on because these characters had no redeeming qualities! There should be a special place in hell for cheating douches like these two!

Now if I could've got past the cheating bastards (yah, right!) the next thing that bothered me was the way the author did her dual POVs. I love a bk with dual or even multiple POVs from secondary characters! However, this author has the H POV in one scene and then does the same exact scene in the h's POV, which was completely redundant and unnecessary. And I found myself skimming through these parts.

Lastly, I was also disgusted with the secondary characters as they all condoned and even assisted the H/h in their disgusting affair! True friends woulda smacked you upside the head b4 they'd let that happen!

HASH(0xa486c990) out of 5 stars COULDN'T PUT DOWN July 5 2014

Okay where do I start with this.... I couldn't put it down Kat owes me sleep.

Into the darkness was such an emotional roller coaster. I have a love/hate relationship with the leading characters Charlie & Lex. One minute I'm in love with them and the next minute I want to slap them.

There was so much I loved about this story, the flashbacks into the past, the alternating point of views. I won't give anymore away because you need to experience this for yourself. There are some moments in the book where my heart ached but it was always followed up with something hilarious. It was a great balance in which the writer conveyed nicely so that it wasn't so melodramatic.

This isn't your typical brooding rich CEO type character and you get to see that as his past unfolds and you get to witness the butterfly moments of two young people falling in love.

The side characters are hilarious and entertaining. I want so much more of them!

If there was one thing I didn't like it was how perfect Julian Baker was. I'm not sure if that's a cover for something about to go down in book two or if he is that annoyingly beautiful & perfect!

I am left in desperate need of book two which thank god is only a month away!!! so my countdown begins for Into the Light

HASH(0xa4b35318) out of 5 stars A train wreck that I couldn't put down. What does that say about me? Dec 25 2014

I'm seriously trying to figure out how to rate this book. I don't think it's necessarily a 3-star book, but I don't see it as a 2-star book either. I guess 2 1/2 stars is where it should really be rated for me.

I 'bought' this book cause it was a freebie. I decided to go on and give it a shot (most of the freebie books don't even get clicked on, so this was impressive that I actually opened it and started reading.) I doubt that I would have paid for this book had it not been free since I had previously not heard/read the author.

Did I really like this book? I have no flipping idea. I liked the supporting cast of characters - Bull's, Rocky, and Eric. Did I like the main players- Lex and Charlie? Most definitely no to Charlie. She was too wishywashy. AND when she finally does make up her mind, what does she do? *mutter* That was freaking horrible how this book ended. I mean, come now, I actually thought there was going to be a chance. That she finally had some redeeming qualities and then she goes and ruins it for me.

Sadly, I kind of, sort of want to know how this ends. So I might just read the next in the series- maybe.

HASH(0xa47e1a68) out of 5 stars "Interesting" ride June 28 2015
By hilndgirl - Published on

I'm not one who condones infidelity and that's how the relationship between married medical intern Alex/Lex and high school senior Charlotte/Char/Cha Cha/Charlie began. Years later when Charlie believes she's got her life pretty much in order and she has a new beau who proposes and she accepts. It's after that Alex (now Lex) shows back up in her life. From there the book takes you on an "interesting" ride.

When I finished this book, I was left feeling confused. The book kept going back and forth between POVs. That wasn't bad as I like to be able to hear the story from more than one side. This book seemed to take it a little overboard by having the characters retell what just happened and then add on to it in an effort to move the story forward. It was sometimes confusing. I was able to finally finish the book.

The book definitely left you wanting to know what happens next even if it means it will be written just like this one.

HASH(0xa49ba624) out of 5 stars Cheaters April 1 2015

The story is narrated in alternating POV, however both characters are speaking of the same event / scene which makes the story redundant. The speech is awful with foolish names for body parts, and things like oh-em-ggee. Urgh!!

Charlie and Lex's past is one of betrayal and great loss. Lex has been gone seven years, without a word, no explanation and he's bothered by the fact that Charlie has a life? What did he expect that she would be searching the world looking for him? She would stop living? How egotistical. I want to like Julian and feel pity for him but Charlie just f****d another man while you were in the next room. How aren't you able to smell his scent all over her? Julian truly deserves better than a slut like Charlie.

I dislike cheaters and the fact that Lex cheated on his wife years ago with Charlie and now Charlie is f*****g with him while she's engaged? They deserve each other. The supporting characters are more likeable.
