About the Author

Tracey West grew up in a small town in New Jersey. After high school, West attended Rutgers University and studied English and Journalism. She worked on the college newspaper and as a newspaper reporterbefore graduating and getting a job as an editorial assistant at a small publishing company. From there West moved to a company that packaged children¿s books and sold them to other publishers. She started submitting ideas for books that other writers would then turn into stories. Finally, she wrote her first book, a Nancy Drew/Hardy Boys Supermystery called Spies and Lies. At the same time, she and two friends came up with an idea for a children¿s book called Great Uncle Dracula. They wrote the book under the pseudonym Jayne Harvey. West then went to work for Scholastic, and when she left in 1996, she decided to try writing books full time. In 1997 she started Pure West Productions and began writing, editing, and packaging books and magazines. Although writing Pokémon kept her busy, Scholastic picked up her original series, Pixie Tricks. She went on to write eight books in the Pixie Tricks series and continued to write new stories for the popular Pixie Tricks website. In August 2003, Grosset & Dunlap published West's new series, Scream Shop, a Pick Your Path series that lets readers choose what will happen in the story. West also writes many books based on cartoon characters such as Samurai Jack, SpongeBob Squarepants, the Looney Tunes, the Powerpuff Girls, Sailor Moon, Cardcaptors, Cubix, and Scooby Doo.

My daughter adores Club Penguin and loves it. You win a contest and get to meet Gary The Gadget Guy. You earn coins online when you answer the book question online. You get to design the way the story goes too. Totally love it!

HASH(0xa2053cd8) out of 5 stars Fun read for Club Penguin fans May 29 2012

My first grader came home the other day asking me if we could get some Club Penguin books. I had never heard of the series so I came browsing here on Amazon (the local library did not have the books). I ordered three since they were relatively inexpensive, and my daughter devoured them all within a week!

I looked through each book. The language is good and perfect for independent, young readers who are able to read chapter books. My daughter enjoys picking out her own path through the story, and reminded me of my own excitement when I was reading similar books at her age. There's quite a few titles in the series, and I plan on getting the rest of them. A fun, adventurous read!
HASH(0xa2053f3c) out of 5 stars Fun but confusing Dec 19 2012

Because of the multiple choices available to made the book hard to read for my son. I even found it somewhat confusing to do all that flipping back and forth.

Not our favorite, but if you are a fan of that type of book, I'm sure it's excellent. We liked what we got from the book.
