A native of Endicott, N.Y., Betsy Bottino Arenella grew up in upstate New York and earned a Bachelor's Degree in English Literature from Hamilton College in Clinton, N.Y. She spent 14 years as a writer, editor, public-relations manager, and media spokesperson in the Boston area before becoming a stay-at-home mother of two and a freelance writer. Arenella lives with her husband, Andrew, and their children, Andrew, seven, and Mina, four, in the Boston suburbs.

I bought this book for a grieving family after the death of one of their children in a tragic accident. This book is absolutely perfect for a situation like theirs where parents are faced with not only their own grief, but that of their surviving children. Many of the other books for children about death refer to the dying process and saying goodbye before someone passes. There is very little available that deals with the sudden death of a child. It is written from a child's perspective and so sweetly deals with the sadness, confusion, and questions of the older sibling. This book does speak of the afterlife and Heaven, but in a gentle way that is not overly connected to any particular religion. This book fills a very important gap in the literature for grievers. Thanks to the author for sharing her "dream."
