Product Description

From New York Times and USA Today Bestselling Author Julia Kent:

Hot make-out session? Check. With the dreamy obstetrician? Check. While her best friend is in labor?

Um... It's Complicated.

Josie Mendham never meant to have her own (radically different) set of gasps and moans a few doors down from where her best friend, Laura, was giving birth. And stealing away with the obstetrician who was consulting on Laura's case certainly wasn't part of any birth plan.

When Dr. Alex Derjian watched the foursome enter the labor ward he did a doubletake: two dads? That defied biology as he knew it. Even more intriguing was the woman with the birthing mother and the fathers: Josie, the nurse he'd been watching from afar for months. One elevator kiss led to an on-call room soiree and soon he was breaking every romantic rule in his playbook.

Finding his way into her pants wouldn't be hard.

But into her heart? That would be a challenge.

As Josie's niece, Darla (from the NYT Bestseller Random Acts of Crazy) moves in and her best friend, Laura (from the NYT Bestselling Her Billionaires series), becomes consumed by motherhood, romantic comedy meets New Adult romance in this novel that asks whether people can get out of their own way and learn that love isn't easy...but it's always worth it

Ok Loved it! This book is a sequel so I highly recommend you read all previous books because if you don't, you are missing amazing reads. Usually in a series you are some what disappointed with some of the sequels, well I can honestly say that you wont with this author. In every book you laugh, cry, sympathise, lust and sigh!!!!!!!!!!
It is very rare that you get all these emotions in every book. In my reviews I dont like to give the in's and out's of the story because people tend to go to far and frankly spoils the story for you. I like to tell if it's worth while to read or not. This series is a definite read. So jump in your cozy chair grab a plush blanket and glass of wine, sit back, relaxe and be prepared to be entertained.

I don't often write a review but something in the way Julia Kent writes hits my funny bone. She knows what it's like to talk to a really close friend, one who doesn't judge you, yet finds the strength and humour to push you to face your insecurities. I hope you find time to enjoy her books as much as I did.

HASH(0x984eaf48) out of 5 stars It's Complicated, but the decision to buy this book shouldn't be! July 31 2013
By Jeannie Young - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Kindle Edition
Finally the much anticipated book that bridges Julia Kent's steamy "Her Two Billionaires" series and the hot and hilarious "Random Acts of Crazy" is here! The relationship between Laura, Mike, and Dylan has always been complicated to say the least. Josie, Laura's best friend, has always been there to ground her, but in this book Josie finds that life has a few complications for her!
Josie has always avoided emotional entanglements. She has a close relationship with her cousin, Darla, and her best friend, Laura, but when it comes to men, she is a love 'em and leave 'em kinda girl. When Laura goes into labor, Josie is immediately drawn to Dr. Alex Derjian, the OB consulting on the case. Before the baby is born, sparks are flying, and from there the sparks start an inferno! Add in her cousin Josie and her menage trio from "Random Acts of Crazy", a senior citizen romance between Madge the waitress and Alex's grandpa, and you can understand the book title!
This book combines the best of everything for me...a great storyline, funny yet believable characters, and steamy love scenes! Even though it is part of a series, it can easily stand alone. However, do yourself a favor by reading the others! They are all too good to miss! This book is definitely adult only due to it's erotic content.

***Review based on ARC received from author, but I would have gladly paid full price!

HASH(0x984eaf9c) out of 5 stars Get this book! July 31 2013
By kek219 - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Kindle Edition
Josie, from the author's 'Billionaires' series, is the protagonist in 'It's Complicated'. She's funny, flawed, and smart, which are adjectives that can describe almost all of Ms. Kent's characters.

And that's what I loved about this book. These 'feel' like real people you'd want to know.

The focus of 'It's Complicated' is the relationship between Josie and Alex. And that story is both hot and, at times, hilarious. But it's also about how families make us who we are and how we can make the families we both need and deserve.

I'll say it again...get this book.

FYI - I've also purchased the first two in the 'Billionaires' series and 'Random Acts of Crazy', but did not have an opportunity to read them prior to 'It's Complicated'. Even though you don't need to read the 'Billionaires' books and 'Random Acts' before this book, I'd recommend it.

**Note - I received 'It's Complicated' from the author as an Advanced Reader Copy.

HASH(0x984ed3f0) out of 5 stars Loved it!! July 31 2013
By Deanna Snow - Published on Amazon.com

I am addicted to this authors books! I have read every book she has out so far, and this one did not disappoint!! I enjoyed "hearing" from some of the crazy characters from the Billionaire series like Madge! That being said, you could read this as a stand alone and be able to follow along, but knowing the background made it better for me. A very good hot romantic story. If you are faint of heart over hot scenes...you may want to skim over those parts. Or just highlight and bookmark as I do! :)
You get an inside view to a great relationship that shows us we are all flawed in some way, but we can work through it together. The great witty dialogue between the characters made me laugh out loud.
I hope we haven't heard the last from these characters!

HASH(0x984ed7b0) out of 5 stars A Good Read, but ... Sept. 3 2013
By Jade Dean - Published on Amazon.com

The novel was longer than it had to be, because a lot of the things said were stating the obvious. I look for lean, clean writing more than anything and, as a creative writing student, we're taught to cut into a scene late, leave it early, and leave some of the guesswork of what happened up to the reader. As a writer, I try to be a stiletto in the dark. As a reader, I've just been clumsily banged over the head with this novel. Why did I give it four stars? I'm being a little generous, but it was still enjoyable, if just a touch on the tedious side.

HASH(0x984ed75c) out of 5 stars long but not bad Jan. 3 2014
By Bookworm - Published on Amazon.com

This book is longer than it should be because of all the background about Josie's childhood and the emotions she goes thru. Some of it is needed and some of it should have been cut or at least condensed. I like the story of Ales and Josie as they fall in love. It was good to see how the baby is intertwined into the lives of Laura mike and Dylan. The introduction of Darla here was a good side story. I did not read the Random Acts of Crazy series because I wanted to see how Laura and Josie stories continued. I hope there is more to come with Laura darla and josie. I would love to see how Josie and Alex mom get along. I am glad Josie finds her center here within herself and she didn't depend on Alex. This book showed real emotion for a new mom, for how relationships change between friends with new mom and friend w no kids, loved the attention given to the senior generation with Grandpa, a good depiction of the ethics that the medical personnel must uphold regardless of personal issues and how the system really doesn't work for some kids out there. So many issues are addressed in this book that I could go on and on. It is a decent read. There is some angst, suspense, romance along with story of everyday life issues that occur. Next book should be called "it's Always Complicated".
