Here is another book written from a young American writer with loose prose and slangs , just like Badass and Ask BUT Gary sure knows his stuff. Other than letting loose and again having a slight disrespect for his readers ( why the 4 star and not 5 ) by having dude slang and rants , he does bat all his knowledge out of the ball park. He knows his stuff, his writing and style and the way his book is organized shows a clear and present and active mind. He is aware and unapologetic about the Social medias realities and further knows them well within his being .

If one is looking at a looking glass through the mechanics of social medias , this is a very good book indeed .Short , clean , to the point , very factual and most of all....insanely helpful ! One gets his/her moneys worth big time .

I've had a couple of service businesses that relied heavily on word of mouth to gain new clients but my new business is selling a product online and in stores and I'm trying to learn everything I can about branding and marketing. I'm feeling fortunate to have stumbled across this book. It's only the second book I've read on marketing and I'm already feeling confident that if I follow Gary's ideas and advice I'm well on my way to becoming a relevant company. Well all know that social media is the way of the future, and that advertising through social media is an absolute must. Every book that covers this topic offers a how-to for how to be successful, and some of them can be very boring. This book I quite liked because it isn't a manual, of a step by step, but rather it teaches us to how make stories in social media to draw in consumer's attention.

The book is written in an easy and light-hearted style, making it engaging and interesting.

I have never read any other material by this author, but after this I do intend to pick them up.

Should you buy? yes.

In a sad, sad time where anyone who has gotten in trouble at work for spending time on Facebook thinks they're a "social media expert" it's amazing to see a true expert in action...

Now you may currently think Gary Vaynerchuck is a genius, or you think he's an intolerable loudmouth.

It doesn't matter.

If you have anything to do with a company that would like to reach its customers more effectively and become more popular you need to read this book immediately!

I can't say the author is wrong in his points. However, the book has many issues. Most importantly, the lessons are trivial: "A great marketing story is one that sells stuff." or "You know that the buyers of that purse are generally twenty-five-year-old females. Does it make sense to send that content about a purse to your fifty-five-year-old male customers who primarily come to you for belts? Of course not.". Most of the book is just blurring the line between insights and common sense. Another time he goes saying Twix made a big mistake not putting their logo on a picture, on the other hand it may not really be a big mistake, since the bars are easily recognizable... It sounds more like improvised comments made on the fly than an intellectual accomplishment. Finally, and least importantly, I find the author terribly annoying. The book is peppered with lines like "Even I screw up sometimes!" which are hardly excusable in the context.
