5.0 out of 5 stars Love after Loss. Fantastic Read! Oct. 20 2015
By April R Symes - Published on

This is book 2 in the Sawyer Brothers series. We met Jackson Sawyer and Bailey Whitmore in book 1 , Ryan’s Love. In this book, the book starts off on a dark note when Jackson is hit with a devastating lost. He is overcome with grief and having a hard time coming to grips with his loss. Everyone Is extremely concerned about Jackson and how he is taking this loss. He isn’t working or is he really sleeping. Its like he doesn’t care about life.
Bailey is Amber's best friend. She knows all too well about grief and she is just as concerned about Jackson as everyone else. Another layer to her concern is that she and Jackson almost slept together a few months back and since then, they have been dancing around their feelings. When they see each other, they act like they have been too busy for one another. Now, she wants to be there for him but is afraid he will reject her. Bailey herself has a lot going on—her own family issues- she and her family are dealing with the death of her brother and due to how he died, the toll it took on her parents’ marriage and her mother’s heath and her hatred, yes hatred for Amber’s mother. Let me add, after reading about this woman, I totally wanted to take her down too. So Bailey had so much on her plate yet with what Jackson is going thru, she wants to be there for him but with all that is going on, this brings back painful memories. The turning point for Jackson and Bailey’s relationship comes when Bailey is having a hard time and she takes off in her jeep and gets overcome so she pulls over and just loses it. Noah finds her and takes her back to his place. He calls someone on his cell , tells them about Bailey’s situation , adding that he{ Noah} would be taking her to his place . The person that rescued Bailey’s car and showed up ay Noah’s was Jackson –he got the kick he needed.
The story does go one with more twists and turns and it shows how Jackson and Bailey’s relationship continues to ebb and flow. Bailey has damage done to her by her parents failed marriage and things done to it and her past will be reveled in this book. My heart broke for her just as I was so glad to see Jackson grow and come to realize what and who was important to him. I have to say, Bailey and Jackson have some wonderful ,sexual , and inventive hot sex. In together with the emotional storytelling of the story of two people who have tragic loss in their lives and end up together, well this was a terrific story of being able to fully appreciate that love and holding on tight to the love. I enjoyed this story and cannot wait for book 3 in the Sawyer brothers book.

My Rating: 4.6 stars *****

4.0 out of 5 stars Another great story from C.A. Harms! I love this series. Jackson and Bailey were so good together! Nov. 1 2015
By Casey M. Britton - Published on
Format: Paperback
Review for Ramblings From This Chick.

C.A. Harms has become one of my go-to authors for an all around great story. She never disappoints, and her books are always emotional and beautiful. So I couldn't wait to read Jackson's Destiny. This story is the second book in the Sawyer Brother's series, but it can be read as a standalone. Though the characters are interconnected, each book is about a different couple. This book was so good and I couldn't put it down.

Jackson Sawyer was always the strong and confident one until a tragedy changed everything. The loss of his father was more than he knew how to deal with, and he found himself lost in his grief. Though his brothers and family tried to pull him out of it, it wasn't until Bailey Whitmore needed help that he found himself waking up. Bailey was dealing with her own painful past and had been struggling by herself as well. So when Jackson's brother Noah offered Bailey comfort, Jackson knew he had to step in and claim Bailey once and for all. But can Jackson and Bailey heal each other from their painful pasts, or will there be too much pain and grief for them to be able to build anything together?

I really liked these two. I enjoyed seeing the chemistry and attraction between them begin in the previous book, and I could tell that they were going to be great together. Bailey and Jackson both were dealing with a lot here and they were able to understand one another and the pain that they each felt. Though the chemistry between them was there from the start, they really got to know more about one another here and I enjoyed seeing them fall for one another. Bailey was feisty and fun, but she was also really sweet. That side of her was not seen often, but Jackson had a way of bringing it out in her. Jackson was strong and sexy, and yet he had a vulnerable side to him that I hadn't expected. Seeing him so emotional here broke my heart, and I felt so bad for all that he had lost. His father was more than just a dad to him, he was his best friend and they had spent every single day together. The loss hit him so much harder than it did his brothers, and I was so glad that he was able to heal some with Bailey's help. She brought him back to life and give him the love and support that he gave her. These two were perfect for one another and I loved them together.

Overall, another great book from C.A. Harms. I am loving this series and the characters, and it was really great to see Ryan, Amber, and Olivia again. I also really liked seeing Alena and Noah and I thought that C.A. Harms did a great job of setting up their story next. While I really enjoyed this book, the one thing I will say is that I felt like the relationship between Jackson and Bailey happened at almost warp speed and if you are against insta-love you might want to skip this one. While insta-love isn't my favorite thing, I really felt like though things happened fast here that it was for the most part believable. The connection between Jackson and Bailey felt so strong and real to me that I found I still believed in their relationship even if the timeline didn't seem plausible. I would have liked to have seen things move a little slower here and maybe have seen them get to know one another better, but I did still think that these two were meant to be together. I think that contemporary romance fans will really enjoy this book and series though, and I can't wait for the next book. I can already tell that it is going to be very interesting with how C.A. Harms left this book and I can't wait to get more of the Sawyer Brothers!

5.0 out of 5 stars always a great story to read by this author Oct. 20 2015

Once again I find myself being sucked into the writing of CA Harms !! The storyline is great , the flow is easy , I get everything I need !! The only issue is I devour it in a matter of hours and then have to wait for more !! As always we get everyone joining the story and even a sneak peak at what's to come.

I have to say this book starts with a BANG. The emotions I was feeling right away were brutal. It is not often you cry in the beginning of a book. The Sawyer family already has a place in my heart , anyone who read Ryan's story will agree. So reading of their major loss was heartbreaking. they have suffered so much already with loss that this is almost unbearable for some of them. Jackson of course is having a hard time and it is we have a very sensitive and caring man to deal with. Bailey is not much different than Jackson. She has been in town long enough to know the family and have made friends yet not everyone knows exactly what she has loss. Her struggles have been heartbreaking , her family has been destroyed and split and now one of those responsible for that is in town and in her face. When Jackson goes all alpha male to help protect Bailey it doesn't take long for their relationship to spin out of control. They have a great chemistry and there really isn't any need to prolong the inevitable. They face their hurdles and they have the chance to be the support for each other as nobody else has. It comes together nicely and I really enjoyed them. There was no shortage of hot yummy time and the cover helps out with that by providing a great visual !!

5.0 out of 5 stars Jackson just may be my favorite Sawyer Oct. 24 2015

4.5 / 5 stars

Received a copy of the title in exchange for an honest review.

I knew in RYAN'S LOVE, when Jackson and Bailey went hiding away, that I was going to love their story. And true enough, I did.

C.A. Harms opened this book with yet another tragedy, and I'm fast learning she writes these scenes well. Where Ryan's book opened with the unexpected death of his wife, this one opens with a Sawyer family death that rocks the entire family -- but hits Jackson especially hard. And watching her friends hurt brings back grief and heartache that Bailey, herself, went through in the past.

When one looks at the framework of JACKSON'S DESTINY, if you hadn't read the previous book Jackson and Bailey's relationship seems extremely fast. Sure, there are the words that they had been circling one another for some time, but without having read it, you don't get the sense, necessarily, of the feelings these two have. So in that sense, it's helpful to read the previous book.

But if you can get past that -- this book completely stands alone fine.

...except I read book one, so I was excited to finally pick the brains of Jackson Sawyer and Bailey Whitmore.

Jackson's possessive streak for friend-turned-lover was lovely to watch. This big bad Sawyer brother has a super large soft spot where Bailey was concerned, and I absolutely adored him. I loved watching the soft side of him come out, both with his family and with Bailey. I loved that when he told her she had his corner, and he had hers, that he then backed that statement up. As much as I loved Ryan's story with Amber and his daughter, I think Jackson may be my favorite Sawyer brother (oh, and no worries, there's plenty of comedy with Olivia Sawyer is concerned).

Beyond the Jackson and Bailey front, though, is the Sawyer family and my goodness, I love the lot of them. I love Momma Sawyer; I love Bailey's relationship with (someday soon sister-in-law, but currently BFF) Amber; I love the boys' relationship with their mother.

But I really really love the interactions between Jackson, Ryan, and Noah. Those brothers, gosh, I loved them to pieces. I loved the teasing, the ribbing, the smart-assed remarks. I loved the banging down the bedroom door and teasing about just how loud certain somebody's got at certain times...

Just loved them.

Next up is Noah's book, and the way that man has been burned... I'm excited to watch him find his forever love.

5.0 out of 5 stars A must read. Oct. 21 2015

Oh, my goodness. CA Harms never disappoints. Right off that bat she made me cry, which is not something all authors pull off. I mean, in a matter of paragraphs, my heart sunk and broke. The way she described the pain and loss these characters encountered was so real and vivid that it gave me the chills. Real talent right there. I promise, CA Harms is an author you cannot miss!

“I only see you, sweetheart.”

Jackson and Bailey got introduced in book 1: Ryan’s Love. While you don’t need to read that one in order to enjoy this second installment in the Sawyer Brothers Series, I do recommend you grab it. This is a series that, in my opinion, by reading ALL the books in order, it will allow you to know all the characters and sort of see their stories build up even before their ‘official’ book.

“You got me, Bay. You always have me in your corner.”

Jackson was suffering from a loss that, while not exactly the same, Bailey had experienced. She understood. She knew the depth of his pain. Then, an unforeseen encounter brought back all that pain Bailey thought she had under control. At this point, Jackson could not sit back and see her hurting. And thanks to a little motivation from his brother, Noah, Jackson made his move. Let me just tell you, there’s nothing sexier than a jealous cowboy! Ha.

“I want you, Bailey. I have for too long. I screwed up because in the beginning I was the one that played games. But it stops now. We both feel this connection, so don’t try to pretend you don’t.”

Jackson was incredibly swoon-worthy! Gah! He was an alpha male, a COWBOY – that combination ALONE made me melt – kind, caring, a hard-worker….HOT. Yeah…did I mention swoon-worthy?

“You, baby. You’re my weakness.”

Jackson needed a feisty girl like Bailey in his life. She definitely kept him on his toes, but at the same time brought out the best in him. Their relationship was full of passion and there was no denying their attraction to each other. Like every couple, however, they had their bumps on the road, but those only made them stronger in the end. I never once doubted Jackson or his relationship with Bailey. They were great together; they clicked.

“You’re my girl. All I need and all I’ll ever want.”

From the very beginning, CA Harms had me wanting to read more and more. Needing to see how Bailey and Jackson’s story would unfold. Suffice it to say, I was hooked and in love with this book. And that ending!!! OMG. I need Noah’s book…yesterday!!!! Another must read and 5-star book from CA Harms!!

“There is no place I would rather be than here with you.”
