It's ok but I only really use it for dishes where the garlic doesn't need to be particularly fine because the garlic gets plugged up in the tool after using it, the bottom part will sort of stick to the tool like a little pancake after you've flattened the garlic. Usually what I do is I take a knife and scrape off the garlic and then dig it out from the holes one by one, but I don't reach for this tool very often because it's kind of a pain and that's exactly what I was hoping to avoid in purchasing this product.

This is the greatest kitchen tool i've ever owned. I've tried many garlic tools that just don't work properly, but this does! It does everthing the ad says and more. It is so comfortable and easy to use. I haven't had a garlic odor on my hands since I got this. Peel your galic carefully and then crushand rock. Then pour or scoop garlic out with a spoon. Also the ad says easy to clean. Well that's an understatement! No more digging garlic out of little holes, just tap out with spoon. If any stays it rinses right out. Seems pricey but it isn't. It is woth every penny. My favorite kitchen gadget.

I bought this after I broke my last (traditional style) garlic press. After stumbling across this rocker here on Amazon, I realized what the problem is with most of these presses. This idea just makes perfect sense. No moving parts and nothing really to break. Super-simple to clean. It gives more of a minced texture than a mush but that's what I prefer. I don't think I'd ever go back to a regular garlic press.

I have over the years tried EVERY type of garlic press imaginable and at no little expense! Grinders, graters, rollers, you name it, I've tried it! Every one promised good results and easy to clean...NOT!

This one arrived yesterday.... push down, rock back and forth, spoon garlic out and rinse while giving a bit of a push with a vegetable brush, the wet stainless steel takes the odor away and you are done!!!

I tried it out, walked over to the utensil drawer and threw out the ones we had at this point.as WELL as the one we have packed in a rolling travelling bag we take on trips loaded with cutlery, dishes and a coffee machine.

This thing WORKS, takes up less room than any of the others did, easy to clean and looks SLEEK, like a piece of modern art.

A word of warning!

I saw other reviews listed with this that were about cheap knock offs that were plastic with a stainless steel bowl that broke after one use....a little less than half the price and useless, there is no way it would work so beware, they may look similar but buy the quality one.

I put it upside down on the floor and stood on it and it didn't deform.

This would make a STELLAR gift for a newly married couple who likes to cook; it would be the first and the last one they would ever use.

I like this little device. It is supremely simple with no moving parts but does a great job when used for what it's designed for. The garlic comes out somewhere between crushed and diced with a knife so you need to assess what you want it for beforehand. In many cases that little extra garlic strength isn't a problem. It is very quick and if you want to make it even simpler just slice the garlic glove in half lengthwise, cut side down and rock on. I found that those little silicone spreader knives work really well to scrape off the result from the rocker but so does your fingernail or a lot of other things. Rubbing your hands on the stainless does diminish the garlic door. I love elegant design and this is elegant. I haven't tried them but second hand information is that the less expensive ones, which aren't fully steel, are best avoided. You need something that is strong and will keep the cutting action plus stand up to pushing down and rocking.

Works as advertised, and this model (with the thin honeycomb of holes) is better than the original, thicker version. That being said, you will still get some garlic stuck in the mesh. We use either a small brush (not silicone, the bristles aren't strong enough), or chopstick to push the pieces out. You can also just use slightly more garlic than you need and rinse away the extra parts that stick in the unit.

They're not "minced", though, just chopped, which is probably fine for any sauce or cooked garlic, but if you explicitly need minced garlic or paste (i.e. dressings, guacamole or somesuch) this won't give you a fine paste. You'll need to mince it further.

Basically, we now use this for all garlic except when we need fine mincing or pasting, which is to say we use it for 90% of our garlic needs.

This garlic crusher works very well and is extremely easy to clean. I much prefer it to the traditional garlic crushers.

I used it for some small garlic (it didn't crush the garlic, just turned it into small cubes), but when I tried to press a larger garlic bulb, the plastic broke, so I had to throw it in the garbage. It was almost new...
