Product Description

brand name computer memory. Cheap computer memory, while possibly being compatible, can cause system crashes, error codes in your computer, and even damage to your motherboard! Other sellers may offer you similar looking products for a few cents or a dollar less, but here's the scoop on why: they sell cheap-grade memory and they don't test the modules before shipping! This ends up costing you time and money. Trust when you buy from Komputerbay, you are getting top of the line product from a top of the line company.

We test every module before it leaves the building, and back all of our purchases up with a LIFETIME WARRANTY!

Komputerbay's strategy is simple - we have eliminated all the distributors/brokers/agent/etc. so as to bring the goods directly from the manufacturer to the end user. By doing so - ours costs go down which in turn brings the selling price down. As far as the warranty is concerned- it's even simpler - the warranty is being provided by the manufacturer who in this situation also happens to be the seller. No more searching for manufacturer's contact information anymore!

This works perfectly in an old Power Mac G4 that I have... I have bought several other types of Komputerbay RAM - DDR2800 for desktops, as well as a bunch of SODIMMs for laptops. All of this RAM has worked flawlessly.

I received two memory boards quickly and on time. The 1GB put new life into a 2001 model iMac. My friend is completely satisfied with the results.

I had an old Dell with 512MB RAM on which I run Linux, and really needed to bump it up to 1GB to run the apps I wanted. PC133 memory is getting a little difficult to find, and some vendors really charge a premium for it. For the price, this looked right. I popped it in, it worked fine, and I've extended the working life of my system for 2 or 3 years at minimal expense. Of course, you will need to make sure that your machine requires PC133 memory, or you will have wasted your time/money.

Hard to find these size rams nowadays. Plugged 2 of these in my old Dell and works like a champ. Probably extended the life of my pc for another yr or two... I have this in my pc for about 3mo. now, and no issues here... Buy it if you need it, because you won't find anything cheaper...

I ordered this RAM from Komputerbay about a month ago, and it shipped out fine. I recieved it quickly, and it was said to be a brand new stick. The problem was that it was a bad stick. The computer kept crashing at random times at startup with memory errors. I sent the stick back with their required paperwork to get a replacement. It had been a week and a half before I had dedcided to write to them and ask about my order, which had not been looked into yet. A few days after that they said that my replacemen was being shipped, but now it's been over a week and I still haven't been given any information as to if it was shipped, no tracking numbers, or when to expect it. They were very vague in their customer response as well. I liked their prices, but if I had knew it was going to take this long and involve this much trouble I would have just paid a few extra dollars to order from someone else.

HASH(0x9eb75408) out of 5 stars Only One Third Pleased April 12 2013

I ordered three 512MB SDRAM DIMM Komputerbay memory sticks to upgrade RAM in my old Gateway desk top computer. Shipping was quick, and packaging was faultless; however, the package only contained two of the three memory sticks that I'd ordered. Amazon refunded the cost of the missing memory stick, and I ordered a replacement from Komputerbay; Amazon even comped the shipping cost. Once again, shipping was quick and the packaging was great. Now, with three memory sticks in-hand, I opened my computer and did the upgrade. NUTS, only one of the three memory sticks worked! Following instructions, I returned the two bad memory sticks, and Amazon refunded the cost.

Komputerbay prices, speed, and packaging are all good, and I'm a patient person, but all that messing around for only one third of the memory sticks I needed? Their prices and my patience are not enough reason for me to ever order any more memory from Komputerbay.

HASH(0x9eb7563c) out of 5 stars Wrong memory Jan. 15 2013

This memory is mislabeled and/or miss-advertised. The memory module had 9 chips instead of 8 on arrival and can damage a PC if the PC requires 128MB 168-pin PC133 SDRAM DIMM as this vendor advertises. A quick look at the photos of other vendors selling this memory upgrade shows it should have only 8 chips with a space in the middle as did comparing it to the existing memory already in my PC.

Warning: Look over memory carefully and do not just rely on the specs.

This experience was very troubling as this vendor warns against using the wrong memory and the damage it can cause and then sends the wrong memory that does not match the specs.

While the other reviews were so positive I can only wonder if the vendor is carefully checking the memory before shipping it out and what could have happened.

Customer service was at a minimum. My printer died so I couldn't print out the return label and only after I offered to pay for the cost of receiving the shipping label did the vendor accept and use my self addressed stamp envelope. The vendor did send me the label, and that was the last I heard. No apology for my time and frustration was forthcoming. (I'm annoyed that I spent two stamps on this vendor's mistake).

Amazon customer service was great and refunded my purchase.
