I first heard Katy Hudson on a Christian TV show a few years back playing an acoustic version of "Growing pains".I dont really listen to much Christian music but I thought her performance, the way she related to the audience,to be fantastic.I then heard the same song on her album and I was very dissapointed. Not because of Katy, but because of the producer who turned a great song into an overblown broadwayesque production .I dont know who he or she is but the record company shouldnt let this person near her on the next CD.What would be great for Ms.Hudson would be a nice stripped down acoustic/electric band.Too bad she cant get someone like Freedy Johnston, another singer songwriter to produce it.They would make a great team.

HASH(0x9f4c9b10) out of 5 stars Lucky Deal Oct. 21 2015
By Noel T. - Published on Amazon.com

I found this CD at a Hastings Entertainment store for $1.99 in the Clearance Section. I was so excited, I told the cashier and showed her how much it was worth here on Amazon and she was happy for me. :) I'll probably frame it and never mess with it. As for listening to the songs, I just listened to them on iTunes. They're pretty good, but nothing wonderful.

HASH(0x9f04b330) out of 5 stars Katy Perry before she became KATY "I KISSED A GIRL" PERRY! Aug. 15 2008

When Katy Perry first came out on radio with "I kissed a girl" I had no idea she had a history already established in the music industry. This is a Christian inspired album...but its very good! and kind interesting to see what Katy Perry was singing before she got her smash hit...

HASH(0x9f046378) out of 5 stars More to come from Katy Hudson March 28 2003

I really enjoyed her first album and can't wait for her second album, to see how much she's progressed. I'm hoping for an album that's not over-produced, as I feel this was just a bit over the top. None the less, I think everyone should hear this singer. For an 18 year old (16 when the CD released), I'm very, very, impressed.

HASH(0x9f196fd8) out of 5 stars FANTASTIC! July 5 2012

First of all I was pleasantly surprised when the Katy Hudson CD I had ordered arrived much sooner than expected, especially since I had purchased it as a birthday gift to myself. Also, the CD was listed as "very good" condition, but near as I can tell it seems to be in "like new" condition! The price I paid(including shipping) was a small fraction of what other vendors are asking for the same product, which led me to be skeptical until I played the album. Absolutely no skips ,scratches, or bumps anywhere to be heard or seen.
Musically, this is a terrific record. I enjoy listening to the instrumentals, background effects and, of course, Ms. Hudson-Perry's vocals which stand out with clarity, strength, poignancy and "soul". Her singing and song writing abilities are absolutely amazing and even more surprising given she was only 15-16 years old when the album was recorded and released. I like some of the tunes Ms. Hudson-Perry has done since this record's release, but all the tracks on "Katy Hudson" are fantastic.
