He's overseas, but he's alive.

When Loïc left, my heart went with him.
In shattered pieces of good-bye.

Leaving her was the hardest thing I've ever done.
Until I got here.
The danger, the fear, the pain—
It's real.

A promise I'm determined to keep.
A vow that might be harder than I thought.
A battle of my heart.
A war with my mind.
A fight to return to London…

This is the second book in the Flaw Heart series by Ellie Wade that I have read and I must say that I thoroughly enjoyed Keeping London. Ms. Wade has given us a story that will have your heart torn out of your chest, right from the start until the very end, and then it will leave you wanting more from this author. This story will have you on an emotional roller coaster ride that is totally beautiful and heartbreaking ! The characters will leave a little mark on your heart , and I still haven't found a way back from that .The storyline was brilliant and quite strong and very gripping ,you will ever be able to put this book down once you start to read it. Keeping London takes up right where Finding London leaves off. Loic and London are starting their journey into a relationship well Loic awaits his pended deployment .It was so amazing watching this lovely pair finding their groove ,and just really enjoying their life as a couple. Just to see how strong their love is for each other, and there wasn't even a shadow of doubt about their love . It was amazing to see how Ms Wade worked her magic when Loic was deployed ,it was quite refreshing that these characters were really ,able to interact thanks to the magic of the internet and Skype .I think my favorite parts were the emails in this story, some was light and breeze and others were serious . But what was special about them was how their love was growing . I could tell you more about this brilliant story ,but that would spoil it for you. I highly recommend that you read this story, you won't be disappointed.

Provided an ARC for an honest review.

I don't even know why I am trying to write this review right now, I just finished this AMAZING second chapter of Loic and London's story. The emotional rollercoaster that this book takes you on is just heartbreaking and beautiful! If you have any connection to the military similar to book one this second book really digs down deep to provide a really accurate and realist look at what it feels like to have a significant other deploy for their country. Having been a soldier and a spouse this part of Loic and London's story really took me back to 2007/08 when I was going through a deployment with my husband. Ellie Wade really did her homework to provide an authentic and beautifully emotional middle to what is surely to be an EPIC love story. I can't wait to read the last book Loving London!!!

If book one wasn't difficult enough to read then book two will gut you. First, I didn't like London very much when I first met her but she grew on me. Loic is that strong but damaged warrior who is slow to love but loves deeply. Unfortunately this story isn't sunshine and rainbows but deep and painful and all to real. This story happens to people every week....but it's still painful and gut wrenching. I didn't like Sarah at all and still don't like her. She has used and abused him her entire life and nothing has changed.

Keeping London (Flawed Heart 2) by Ellie Wade
4.5 stars!!!

“…it’s the secrets one buries the deepest that have the power to destroy them. And though I love to be right, when it comes to that, I hope I’m wrong.”

Ellie Wade, Ellie Wade, Ellie Wade is my public enemy number one at the moment…once again she has decimated me. I’m sure this, what appears to be a quiet and timid author has one huge artery of evil running through her that fuels her evil, black heart…seriously, every. Single. Time. She kills me! But that is what I love the most about Ellie Wade’s writing, it is so emotive, the character connection so on point that you cannot help but love these characters with such ferocity that when they hurt you hurt, and I hurt bad, really bad.

“Yet, somehow, our imperfections work seamlessly together to make our flaws into something more. More compassion. More love. More understanding. Simply more.”

Keeping London starts where Finding London ended and this book covers the time before Loic’s deployment and during. The first part of Keeping London, for me was a little slow, but I loved and I mean loved, what London and Loic got up to in the days before his deployment. While these two are polar opposites in so many ways one thing they have in common and keeps them together is the sincere and complete love that they have for one and other. Loic is put in uncomfortable situations but he copes with finesse and a lot of heat! But it is these escapades that introduces some great secondary characters that really lightened this book in the first half and that much needed humour was extremely welcomed, but, and this is a huge BUT, it is that evil authors twisted way of luring you into a false sense of security before she rips your heart out, spits on it, stomps on it and rips it up into teeny, tiny pieces. This was definitely the calm before the storm.

“I mean, you know, it’s not the size of the ship but the motion of the ocean anyway. But that doesn’t mean I’m not going to mention it now. It was really small.”

Once Loic is deployed, Ellie Wade had me swooning A LOT, what should be the hardest time for these two actually makes these two grow as individuals and as a couple. Their email messages, their Skype sessions and care packages all made my heart soar, made me laugh, swoon and just fall in love with these two all the more. The questions that these two ask back and forth had me grinning from ear to ear, laughing one minute and all teary the next. So if you haven’t guessed, yes, this is one emotional roller coaster.

“Somehow, someway…I have to. If you love someone, set them free. If you love someone… Set. Them. Free.”

I really cannot say anymore, because everything is a spoiler, but I just want to get across just how well Ellie Wade nailed the intense emotion and character connection throughout. I cried for Britain, I hurt like a mofo, I was swearing, I threw my kindle, I was so damn angry. There are people I trust and people I don’t and there is one person in particular in this story that I don’t trust AT ALL. Just that person’s presence makes me break out in hives and after this book that person is totally irredeemable. Ellie Wade shook me to my core with one particular plot twist that I never saw coming and to be honest, one that I still haven’t recovered from. So much was packed into this book in the last half that I barely came up for breath unless I was unceremoniously blowing my nose or wiping away my floods and floods of tears. But, what a way to end this book, this book was certainly no filler as is often commonplace. This book had it all and to be honest, even this review is not cathartic. I thought having all my thoughts and opinions on paper would ease the tightness in my chest, but alas, no. I guess I will just have to wait a few months…I NEED BOOK THREE!!

“She’s everything that I never had the courage to wish for, but for some reason, I was lucky enough to find her, I just hope I can keep her.”

PS: I need to make a huge deal of these covers, both Finding London and Keeping London are two of the most stunning covers I have seen. I adore them. That’s all.

So when you start this book, you pick up right where Finding London left off. If you have read ANYTHING by Ellie, you will know that she does the most devilish things to her characters. This one is no different. Preying on the emotions and pasts of both characters, Ellie really made your heart break with this book. But I feel that she had to do it. Most of her books are about the characters growing and finding out who they are and what they really want. But at the same time, it makes you a little sad. Keeping London is a beautifully written book that I would love to read over and over again. Ellie knows how to write a great book, she also knows when to rip your heart out and when to gently place it back in your body all better like nothing happened. Getin Finding London, get Keeping London, and read them both ... Now...

5.0 out of 5 stars 5 Learning how to breathe again stars! June 29 2016

"This pain isn't exclusive to me, but it aches as if it is."

I've been a huge fan of Ellie since Forever Baby, and the day this woman stops writing will be the day I stop breathing. She writes emotions with such a raw, honest intensity that you become paralyzed with her words. The characters are so well developed and real, and before you know it they become part of your own family. I had a hard time connecting with London in the first book, but man if I don't freaking love her now. I laughed with her, cried with her, screamed with her and then...I just wanted to wrap my arms around her and hold her tight.

"Promise me that you'll come back to me."

This series gets better with every book, but Ellie is a master of the feels and this one will wreck you. This book has real complex characters you will root for, laugh out loud banter, and a story that will inspire and stay with you for a really long time. The time and energy she put in to bring the military to life, and all the research did gave this story flesh and bones. My heart sank, my knees buckled, and I lost my breath so many times I lost count. But, the chemistry and connection with Loic and London is absolutely electric. Ellie pulls out all her tricks with this one and I can't wait for the third book, Loving London.
