Well, I realize that Nova Scotia weather changes more than most peoples underwear, but this always looked exactly like the photo, Crystals on bottom. But we got it for brother in law and it’s pretty so I guess it’ll look nice in the window, even if it is useless.

It never moves! It stays at fair weather all the time. We have had snow, wind, cloudy skies and all kinds of weather and this has never changed from fair weather. I got this for a Christmas gift for my husband. Very disappointed!

All the reviews said it doesnt work but I ordered it anyways and to my surprise it's very accurate!! I wouldnt say it predicts the weather but it deffinitely changes with the weather. The only issue I had was the actual glass part did not fit in the wood stand, the hole was too small. So I took the plastic insert in the wood stand out and the hole became too big so the glass does not sit right.

This a great gift for a kid, our first was broken in a pillow fight... ordered again and set up only to have it dislodge itself in front of our eyes and fall to the ground and smash. What is in that glass vial?

My husband firmly embedded the glass vial in the base and then put it on a safe shelf in our kitchen. Minutes later it fell out and smashed onto our kitchen counter. What a mess. I hope that soap and water are enough to clean that substance - it had a very strong smell.
Very disappointed as it was one of the few gifts I have ever purchased for him that he seemed curious about.

We've had it for about a month now, followed the instructions for the best place to put it, and nothing for weeks. So we've moved it around, and it still does nothing. Oh well.

Bought this for my husband as a Christmas present. The price made me a bit hesitant at first but decided to give it a go.
Although a bit smaller than I expected, its simple contemporary design is great. It's well made and the glass fits snugly into the base. I especially like the fact that the different weather conditions are printed onto the glass, making it very easy to interpret the different crystal formations. The glass was also very well packaged. No chance of it getting damaged in transit.
Although I'm not sure how well it 'predicts' the weather it cerrtainly makes a great gift. Absolutely fascinating to watch the different crystals forming!
