This was, for me, an immensely readable book, one that I found hard to put down once I had taken it up. There is so much history that I have lived through, although at a remove, in the book, that I found it irresistible, especially as Reagan was a man for whom I had a great deal of admiration during his life, and still do. I am aware of the criticism levelled at the book, principally by the writer, George F Will, a man whose writing I admire, and many of whose views I share. But I don't know who is right, I wasn't there, so I take the book at it's face value.

This was request from my Mother. She had heard about it and wanted it so I got it for her for Christmas.
I asked her about it at Easter and she said it was an excellent book!
Other than that, I have not read it so can not speak to its contents.

I have read all of O'Reilly's killing books. The book on Patton was by far the best. This book was just mildly interesting. Reagan's life was compelling, but the book just did not have the same zing.

My wife is currently reading the book...so I have been unable to get my paws on it! She is thoroughly enjoying it! I am looking forward to spending some time between the pages. The book arrived promptly and in good shape, as promised.

A simplistic recounting of the President's life. It seemed as though most of the research was done by reading past issues of some well known magazines. The writing was at a grade 8 level and became quite boring after ten or twenty pages. There were no new revelations and few real insights. A good beach book where you have other things to entertain you, but not a barn burner. After finishing the book you are left feeling that you have just read a book report by a high school kid. President Reagan deserved better. Much better.

I was not a fan at first when he was elected. I became a fan quickly. This book shows us how to survive with the help of loved ones. My mother was a veggie for 7 years before her body finally failed.

Personally, I think Bill O'Reilly is a total a-hole and I would never read his books -- not even under threat of death! However, my Dad digs this guy's books (for whatever reason), and I love my Dad, so... The transaction was perfect, just not a fan of the author.
