Product Description

A USA Today bestseller!

Roan King.

The uncrowned king of Barnett University. He's like a freaking celebrity around here. It's totally ridiculous. People, by which I mean grown women, actually stalk him on the internet. And around campus. Apparently he's god's gift to both football and the ladies (I'm using that term loosely). All he has to do is smile and girls just fall right onto their backs before spreading their legs nice and wide. I've heard that he's already plowed his way through half the female population here at Barnett. I'm sure he'll work his way through the second half before he gets drafted to the NFL later this year.

Yeah... I don't plan to be one of them. The guy is nothing more than a conceited player. You know the type- a steroid infused meathead jock coasting through college on his football prowess.

Ugh.

I have three words for you- avoid, avoid, avoid.

Need I say more?

I don't think so.

I've had the sad misfortune of running into him on campus. Literally. As in- I literally slammed into him before spilling my iced coffee drink all over that wide rippling chest of his (did I just say that?). What I learned from the experience is that Roan King is one hell of a cocky son of a-

I also learned that he has the most spectacular chest...

And don't even get me started on those abs... I could probably cut diamonds on them.

Unfortunately for me, Operation- Avoid-Roan-King isn't going so well. Everywhere I go, there he is. If he wasn't so ridiculously hot, he would be a hell of a lot easier to forget. With his dark hair, shocking turquoise colored eyes and (damn him) buff body, he's easily the most gorgeous guy I've ever laid eyes on.

Crap... see what I mean?

Why do I suddenly have the bad feeling that Roan King is going to lead to my utter ruin and downfall?

*This is a mature New Adult novel with strong language and sexual situations intended for readers over the age of 18*

I really wanted to love this book. I did like it a lot but it just fell a bit short for me. I really liked Roan and understood where he was coming from, but there was just something missing for me. I do have to say that the over use of "I can't" statements drove me crazy!

HASH(0xa42ba444) out of 5 stars Sweet college romance Feb. 29 2016

I'm so conflicted about this review because most of the book was a solid 4 stars for me. I'll start by talking about what I liked about this story- it was well written, kept my attention, and I really liked Ivy and Roan. I love a good reformed manwhore story. If you keep reading my review there will be some spoilers that explain why my rating went lower, so stop now if you don't want to see it :)

*spoilers ahead*

Throughout the book there was sexual tension (which was good), there was dirty talk and steamy kisses and descriptive foreplay (also very good), and then they were about to have sex for the first time (highly anticipated moment) and then... Nothing. Like the scene literally just stops and skips over the sex. The next chapter starts and it's two weeks later. I was really confused and I had to go back and forth a few pages to make sure my kindle didn't just skip over a chapter. I was so disappointed! This was a monumental moment for the couple and I felt like so much of the book was leading up to it. I also felt like the first month of their relationship was skipped over. As a reader, I wanted to bask in their newfound romance, and it was rushed. This may not be a problem for some readers, but skipping over highly anticipated scenes are a huge pet peeve for me. It was a let down and I found myself a little less invested in their relationship for the last 25% of the book.

Would I recommend this book to other readers? Yes. The writer is talented and I still enjoyed the story.

HASH(0xa42ba690) out of 5 stars I loved this book and yes Feb. 28 2016

I loved this book and yes, I give it a 5 star. When I find a book that I can't put down I have no choice. Not much sexually explicit scenes but a lot of the sexual conversations and the build up from roan was off the charts. Can't see what comes next from this author but I truly ope Lexi and Dylan gets a book

HASH(0xa42ba654) out of 5 stars Sweet college jerk to sweet guy story Feb. 23 2016
By Shelbel - Published on Amazon.com

I really liked this book. I actually would give it a 4 1/2 stars. The only reason I didn't give it 5, is through the first 6-7 chapters I really got tired of hearing about King's body. It got a little irritating after a while. Otherwise, it was a really nice read. The angst at the end was really well written, and not the normal angst from other books.

HASH(0xa42ba948) out of 5 stars Fun-to-read sports-themed romance Feb. 28 2016
By Anne W - Published on Amazon.com

A new-to-me-author with another college football "King" that is worshipped far and wide and everywhere in between. And a talented dancer who just isn’t interested . . . until she finds herself in over her head with the jock who lives next door. I actually found this one to be a very pleasant surprise with its own brand of freshness. I loved the two college-age protagonists. Both brought game and intelligence to this story, including sizzling chemistry that was written to slowly ignite and when it did, it was such fun-to-read. I’m a major fan of sports-themed romances and this one certainly kept my spirits high from start to finish.

Jennifer Sucevic writes well with an easy flow to her writing. She provides her characters with wit and charm within their dialogues and personalities. I will definitely be reading more from her. One minor slip up that I can’t ignore was the number of spelling errors and/or choice of homophones. Just bugs the heck out of me when a simple edit should catch these silly and avoidable errors.

This one still gets a high recommendation on entertainment value though.

HASH(0xa42ba9a8) out of 5 stars Don't waste your time or money. March 12 2016
By Amanda - Published on Amazon.com

Okay, first I would like to applaud the author for putting her time into this book and putting out for all to read... But this book was the worst that I have read in the last month . Second, the author uses way to much descriptions and metaphors to describe her scenes. Almost to the point of reiterating what she'd already said. For example heroin in this book keeps described the physical attributes of the hero in the book. Yes, we know he is a hot football star with a great body. You don't have to keep describing it every single time he comes into a scene. I felt like this book was really slow, considering I read it in one day. Third, heroin in this book is so judgmental that she stereotypes the hero in the book as a dumb jock football player with no brain. Fourth, I would not recommend this book and I will be returning it for a full refund.
