2014 album from the veteran rocker. KINGS & QUEENS OF THE UNDERGROUND was primarily produced by Trevor Horn, with Greg Kurstin also contributing as a producer to two songs - 'Save Me Now' and the anthemic lead single, 'Can't Break Me Down.' From punk pioneer to global superstar, William Michael Albert Broad - AKA Billy Idol - has left an indelible mark in popular music and remained a household name for over three decades. His style, music, and attitude have transcended time and trends. Billy is the original punk rocker who found a way to take that sneering punk attitude into the pop and rock mainstream, carving out songs that have lasted a lifetime.

Those awesome songs from this album include Can't Break Me Down, Save Me Now & Postcards From The Past. Just to name a few.
For me, stumbling across this album was like finding unexpected treasure. I'd bet real money EACH of the first three tracks --"Bitter Pill" "Can't Break Me Down" or "Save Me Now"-- would have charted in the Top 5.
People more hung up on image than on music often overlook the tremendous song-writing skills that went into crafting Idol's many chart-topping hits. Those people can't be helped.
Catchy, infectious, play-that-again-only-louder-this-time songs have always been Idol's specialty and whether it's an up-tempo rocker or one of those brooding, moodier pieces he does so well, this album is... just excellent. I'm not going to say "classic". That's a b.s. term based on imagined chronological trends.
Listen to this for what it is: new music by an artist who has managed to stay strong and vibrant in a sound so his-own it's practically his own genre.
Hope you enjoy it.
