About the Author

Brian S.Osborne is a professor of geography (emeritus) at Queen’s University, author of The Rock and the Sword: A History of St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church, and former President of the Kingston and Ontario Historical Societies.

Donald Swainson was a professor of history at Queen’s University and an engaged citizen of the city. He is the author of Sir John A. MacDonald: The Man and the Politician and Personalizing Place: In Defence of Local History: The Kingston Case. _________________
