I got this drive for my GIGABYTE BRIX Pro ... it's only been a little over a month but it's running fast and quite. GIGABYTE did not endorse this particular model but they did endorse a few other Kingston. This Kingston had basically the same specs, large storage and low energy and low heat AND it was cheaper. I can't say that it did anything amazing but what I can say is that it's getting the job done. I plugged it in and had forgot about it until I saw my Amazon order history.

If you are looking to breath new life into an old laptop that is running on a mechanical hard drive (with an available mSATA slot), this is absolutely the best dollar for dollar upgrade available. It will make the most noticeable difference in bootup times, and overall system speed. You could buy a more expensive, faster SSD, but I'm positive that you won't notice any useful performance gains compared to this Kingston mS200.

I was looking for the CHEAPEST possible SSD solution that could radically improve the storage performance on my company-owned laptop. At $42.52 after tax for 120GB (open box)... this fit the bill perfectly.

I put it in a 3 year old Dell Laptop which has a 4th Gen Intel i5 U series processor and 4GB (had a 2.5" 500GB Segate Thin HDD). After upgrading to this Kingston SSD, the bootup time DRASTICALLY improved, and application launch times are now much faster. Overall system performance just feels 10 times faster. I was going to upgrade the RAM as well, but I no longer feel that I need to (this laptop only gets used for light office productivity).

Works fine in laptop

I've had this SSD for eight weeks. It works fine in my Lenovo E420.

At first, I installed two flavors of Linux on this drive. Windows was on my regular SATA drive, a Kingston 90GB HyperX 3K SSD. Later, I installed Windows 10 to this Kingston 120GB mSATA drive. No problems to report. Windows feels quicker on this mSATA device, but I haven't proved it.

I have two SSDs in my laptop. I'm thinking of installing a third SSD using a SATA to mSATA adapter http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00G8772CS/ in the HD caddy I swapped my laptop's DVD burner for.

A good free boot manager (installed to disk MBR) is Plop Boot Manager. It lets me boot from any partition on either SSD in my Lenovo.

Failed to install OS, good for storage only

I tried to install this as the main SSD to boot from. The drive formats successfully but fails to boot. You might think it's the settings, NO it is not the settings because I tried another brand and it works fine. This is good for data storage but not for installing OS. Performance-wise, not that fact as I expected.

Coupled with Aleratec driver converter to add this SSD to a Motion J3500. Before adding this, the 5400 rpm hard drive in it was taking over 5 minutes to load into Windows from boot. After cloning the Windows partition over, it booted up in about 15 seconds. Our field tech was tickled at how fast it was working after this change and battery life seems to have improved a bit as well.
