Product Description

When his dysfunctional family clashes over the holidays, young Max (Emjay Anthony) is disillusioned and turns his back on Christmas. Little does he know, this lack of festive spirit has unleashed the wrath of Krampus: a demonic force of ancient evil intent on punishing non-believers. All hell breaks loose as beloved holiday icons take on a monstrous life of their own, laying siege to the fractured family's home and forcing them to fight for each other if they hope to survive.

There are some silly things in this movie, but let me just say its somewhat good for a scare,
a huge snow storm and you let your kid 14 years go out (Alone) yea right, she could've snuck out,
wait till you see what i'm saying, an a package comes an the homeowner don't answer the door, Okay.

Very fun movie and a throwback to 80's films like gremlins and ghostbusters. The opening has one of the funniest and most accurate representations of modern day christmas and had me cracking up.
The film starts off with a christmas vacation/home alone type feel, but quickly evolves into something much darker yet still very fun.
There is one f bomb dropped in the film and a few other obscenities, but nothing too offensive in this film. No on screen gore and the scares are all played in a fun way, much like a film like gremlins.
This is a good transitional horror film for younger kids around 10-12 into the scarier stuff, as the film is fun, but still played straight and not campy like most films these days.
I highly recommend this film as I'll be watching it every christmas season. This is a must watch for those looking for something original and fun.

Format: DVD
The film opens showing us that Christmas is a holiday of aggression at the Mucho Mart. Tom Engel (Adama Scott) and family are hosting some relatives for the holiday season, people they seem to tolerate only because they are family. Howard (David Koechner) is a citizen with the right to bear arms and makes no bones about it with his family that "crawled out of the shallow end of the gene pool." Young Max Engel (Emjay Anthony) has a special relationship with his German grandmother (Krista Stadler) who believes in Santa. When Max is bullied...the spirit of things change.

It took me a while to see this film because of the plethora of Krampus films on the market. This one is "kid friendly" in that there are no F-words, sex, nudity, or gross bloody scenes. I don't see it as an annual classic as it is a film one can out grow. The production had a "Gremlins" feel to it as small characters provide us with mischief. The film lacks real horror for adults. Fair amount of humor.

I wish i could say i didnt find this crazy film enjoyable but omg i laughed so hard! It starts with showing the craziness that is Christmas shopping, which i loved and moves on to the family that frankly dislikes each other but forces themselves to try and be together through Christmas. Then havoc begins. The horror aspect is quite minimal because its ridiculous! This movie reminded me a bit of the Gremlins.
Toni Collette is in this movie and everything she does is fabulous!

I expected a little more gore and monster variety, but I still liked it. The humor was well placed, and the sound was great (you really felt the weight of Krampus with him stomping and jangling all those bells and chains, and of course the monsters had those horrible shrieking noises). I'd put it right beside Gremlins in the fun but still grim Christmas horror movies.

Really enjoyed this movie! It reminds me of "The Gremlins" atmosphere. Horror with a dash of comedy, a genre that has almost disappear nowadays. The Krampus itself is really creepy and I love the building suspense during the film and love the twist at the end.
I would have give it a 3.5 stars instead of 4, but it's worth watching in your next christmas holiday.

Really enjoyed this, truly magical. I grew up hearing stories of Krampus & was always disappointed when only Santa visited every Christmas. I didn't expect to laugh so much during this film, definitely dark humor, the high rating was for swearing (not gore or violence). Definitely can be appreciated for kids of the 80's and can't wait to get copies for myself and friends!

This film is a cross between 1984's Gremlins, 2005's S Santa's Slay with a touch of 1990's Tremors sprinkled in. This is the results win the mythical Christmas spirit dies only to be replaced by… wait for it. You guessed it,… Krampus!
