When his dysfunctional family clashes over the holidays, young Max (Emjay Anthony) is disillusioned and turns his back on Christmas. Little does he know, this lack of festive spirit has unleashed the wrath of Krampus: a demonic force of ancient evil intent on punishing non-believers. All hell breaks loose as beloved holiday icons take on a monstrous life of their own, laying siege to the fractured family's home and forcing them to fight for each other if they hope to survive.

The film starts off with a christmas vacation/home alone type feel, but quickly evolves into something much darker yet still very fun.
There is one f bomb dropped in the film and a few other obscenities, but nothing too offensive in this film. No on screen gore and the scares are all played in a fun way, much like a film like gremlins.
This is a good transitional horror film for younger kids around 10-12 into the scarier stuff, as the film is fun, but still played straight and not campy like most films these days.
I highly recommend this film as I'll be watching it every christmas season. This is a must watch for those looking for something original and fun.
Toni Collette is in this movie and everything she does is fabulous!
It took me a while to see this film because of the plethora of Krampus films on the market. This one is "kid friendly" in that there are no F-words, sex, nudity, or gross bloody scenes. I don't see it as an annual classic as it is a film one can out grow. The production had a "Gremlins" feel to it as small characters provide us with mischief. The film lacks real horror for adults. Fair amount of humor.
I would have give it a 3.5 stars instead of 4, but it's worth watching in your next christmas holiday.
a huge snow storm and you let your kid 14 years go out (Alone) yea right, she could've snuck out,
wait till you see what i'm saying, an a package comes an the homeowner don't answer the door, Okay.
