Née à Hong-Kong, d'un père architecte et d'une mère maître verrier, partagée entre ses origines celte et latine, nomade par goût, Viviane Moore devient photographe à dix-neuf ans, puis reporter free-lance. En 1997, elle délaisse son Leica pour se consacrer à plein temps à l'écriture. Elle a écrit une trentaine de romans dont certains traduits en anglais, italien, polonais et coréen, la plupart consacrés au domaine médiéval.
