The macaron making method in this book is the french one. While the french method of macaron never worked out for me despite trying over 30 times, I would still consider this one of my favourite books because of all the other recipes in here. If you're looking to purchase this book for making macarons, I suggest you give the italian method a try instead. Italian is the method where you have to make a sugar syrup. The results are much more consistent and stable.
This book is WONDERFUL! Full of tempting delights with great pictures and the presentation is outstanding. I have not yet tried any recipes but have reviewed some and they appear to be user friendly--however not for the shy cook. I can hardly decide where to start cooking, I can see working my way through the entire book. Even if you are not a cook, it is just lovely to have this book in your collection.
I highly recommend anyone interested in enjoying wonderful food should have this outstanding book.
Gave it to a friend for her birthday. Ordered it Friday and received it by Monday! She absolutely loved it, specially the silky soft texture for the cover.
For a one who wants to learn how to make macaron this book is definitely not the best choice, there only for recipes of macarons and all of them with french meringue.
