Mackenzie August is rugged handsome and irresistible. An unlikely English teacher he applies for and gets a job in a small town high school where 2 of his colleagues are inexplicably murdered. Ex cop Mack feels he has no choice but to investigate. I loved everything about this book. The pace, the humour and the affection between the characters. Not to mention, the fearless tackling of fanatic religious belief. An excellent murder mystery

Mackenzie August seems to have had several careers in his life. A very successful detective, a church worker and now English teacher. After only a very short while at the school two teachers are murdered and the bodies both left outside his trailer classroom, (I presume a mobile room). Is someone trying to frame him or does he have a stalker? Could it be the sex mad female teacher who is chasing him relentlessly? Mac needs to find out quickly when the life of his baby son is put in danger. Whilst this book is a murder mystery it has a few funny moments and is a good read.

Got halfway through, but i couldn't cope with the wise cracking.......It just seemed too far fetched that such a situation existed, thta allowed a teacher to behave so.....

Some comical lines but a pretty weak story line overall. Not exactly a page turning climactic finale either - in fact it stutters a bit in the last few chapters ! I thought it would improve but sadly not !!!

An enthralling story, but is this how they live and talk in the southern states? Half of the words in sentences are omitted and I suppose it’s only the inflection of the voice that indicates all its meaning. Or maybe, being sexist, it’s intended more for male readers. Oh well, on to the next book!
