Product Description

Review

"Journalistically bruising." -- Peter King

"It is meticulously researched, artfully structured, engaging and well written... this is an informative, intriguing and sobering book about power and control. I recommend it strongly." - Nate Jackson, The Washington Post

"Mark Fainaru-Wada and Steve Fainaru's book 'League of Denial' should be required reading in secondary schools for all athletes. Those of us outside the lines will be wiser, as well, for having invested just a few hours to read it." - Tim Cowlishaw, Dallas Morning News

"Meticulously documented and endlessly chilling." - The New York Times

“'League of Denial' may turn out to be the most influential sports-related book of our time." -The Boston Globe, Best Sports Books of 2013

An absolute must.
Troubling if you thought the athletes' well being was important.
Troubling if you plan to let your son play competitive football.
Your vision of sports will never be the same.

Its inconceivable that the NFL can continue to make billions of dollars as lords of a "sport" which abuses its participants at a rate such as occurs every game of the NFL schedule. Although awareness of the degree of abuse suffered by players should terminate the NFL, the game will continue beause the players are as greedy and self-absorbed as the owners. The book is a true eye-opener, but it probably won't matter.

Captivating, terrifying, maddening. A very important read. Well-researched and engaging even for those who never really followed football much in the first place (like me). Reading this book will make you never want to watch the NFL again.

Extremely interesting, eye-opening, and troubling read. If a sport actually existed, that inflicted this type of physical damage in animals, its league would be shut down and its owners incarcerated.

No other way to describe the revelations in this book. The NFL has treated its players with utter disregard. Shame.
