About the Author
Tori St. Claire grew up writing. Hobby quickly turned into passion, and when she discovered the world of romance as a teen, poems and short stories gave way to full length novels with sexy heroes and heroines waiting to be swept off their feet. She wrote her first romance novel at seventeen.
While that manuscript gathered dust-bunnies beneath the bed, she went on to establish herself as a contemporary, historical, and paranormal author under the pen name, Claire Ashgrove. Her writing, however, skirted a fine line between hot and steamy, and motivated by authors she admired, she pushed her boundaries and made the leap into erotica, using the darker side of human nature and on-the-edge suspense to drive grittier, sexier, stories.
Her erotic romantic suspense novels are searingly sensual experiences that unite passion with true emotion, and the all-consuming tie that binds—love.

My heart ached for Alexei. He was consumed with so much self-loathing from his past and his role in the trafficking he fought against. He was a good man, but he had a stain on his soul from the atrocities he committed to protect his country.
Sasha was his destruction and his absolution. A mistaken mark he fell for years before, he finally had a chance to right his greatest wrong and grab the love and happiness he didn’t believe he deserved, but nevertheless wanted. But it wasn’t just Alexei’s past that put up obstacles, Sasha’s secret was the one that nearly destroyed them both.
I liked Sasha a lot. She wasn’t innocent, but she had a pureness about her.
It was impossible to know who to trust in this book. It made the connection between her and Alexei all the more important. They were intense. From the beginning they belonged to each other – each imprinted on the other’s soul.
Would love to see Misha get a story as the series continues.
He is fuelled with regret after what he had done, and after two years he is sent to retrieve her. She has been in his thoughts and Sasha brings out all the emotions within him, a week was not enough. But finds his need to succeed in this mission - is just overwhelming. They follow a trail of betrayal , deceit and lies and not knowing whom they can trust. A love that seems inevitable yet almost unachievable in many ways ... Past lies , and Secrets may be the end .
Lie to me is a riveting and gritty suspense filled read with engaging characters. A lot of hot sex, ménages, and full on vivid descriptions.
So if you not into the nitty gritty ** hot sex ** and vivid descriptions then this read is not for you... The sex between Alexei and Sasha showed us the depth and definition between the pair, the emotions well portrayed and put forth to give the reader an understanding of their relationship.
The pages are drenched in suspense that will certainly leave you on the edge of your seat. But eagerly flipping the pages for more. I'm sure in certain scenes your eyelashes will be curling and your heart beating in overdrive...
Both characters, Alexei and Sasha have both hidden secrets, pasts - tortured souls in their own ways, this in turn may just affect their relationship on more levels than one. How can love grow with so many hidden secrets and the unknown? The story alone of these two alone will certainly have you anticipating every page.
From within the first chapter - Lie to me will have you eagerly hooked . With a fluent flowing storyline, and heat that will scorch the pages ** wink wink** the story is not stop GO GO... goooooo..
I have not read the first in this series, but didn't find I had missed out on anything. I will go back to read it for sure.
((( take a good look at the cover, my friend and I were baffled - at first and then amazed at the shadows. )) very clever !!!!!! there are actually three different shots in it ;)
I like the way in which Tori has set up the ending of this book for the continuous on of her next story .
This book was supplied to me via the publisher - author for an honest review.
Contemporary Romance -July 3rd, 2012
Lie to Me is the second in the authors Black Opals erotic suspense series. In the last book, the hero Alexei was part of an elite team called the Black Opals responsible for discovering and stopping the trafficking of women.
On one of his worst assignments Alexei was forced to sell/traffic a woman he cared for named Irina to a sheik. Her disappearance haunts him. Even after he helps expose the crime and save most of the women. But he is troubled that Irina has never been found. Now he has been assigned to bring back another stolen woman named Sasha and return her to the loving arms of her father. Sasha is the daughter of a brilliant scientist but her father wants her back for an entirely different reason than Alexei thinks...
Irina was sold to a powerful sheik but thankfully was given as a gift to his son Saeed who respected her and held her dark secrets. For Irina is really Sasha Zablosky and she is running from her father. A man who is responsible for Sasha commiting a horrible act that she feels she must atone for. When she discovers that Alexei has been sent to bring her back to her father she knows she must escape but his heated touch makes her want to stay despite the terrible danger. Can she convince Alexei to let her go or will she have to betray the man she has come to love to save herself?
Lie to Me is not the typical romance. But an erotic full throttle sexcapade with action, adventure and crossed loyalties. Sasha is comfortable with her body and is not timid about sex. So it is hot, Hot, HOT!! This story starts out with intrigue and betrayal as Alexei sells Sasha to an unknown sheik. Like the first book in the series, Stripped, the author delves into a shady world where there is no right or wrong and the hero and heroine could be villains. The author has definitely written a more cohesive and compelling book than her first. The chemistry (and sex) between the main characters is off the charts, frequent and isn't just thrown in as filler. It also features ménage scenes that fans of erotica will definitely enjoy. Alexei and Sasha are two people with good intentions but who seem caught up in a world that is often out of their control and just trying to do the best they can. Each has their own demons and the plot takes an unexpected turn that kept this reader glued to the pages.
