Just finished watching this series via Zip (I believe it played on Vision TV in Canada some time ago). Very well written and a top performance by Caroline Quentin as the quintessential British housewife coping with a boring daily life thrown into tumult by hubby's midlife crises. One issue - Zip's disc is missing an episode (says it's a manufacturing fault) so I wonder if Amazon's are all OK? It's the first one on disc 3 (an old episode is repeated instead, which is confusing).

another great offering from the UK

I have a Region 2 dvd set from the original British ITV series so I'm not sure if it differs from this version. I loved the series "Cold Feet" and since this show was also created by Mike Bullen, I thought I'd give it a go....and I'm sure glad I did. The show starts with an average family going on holiday with their friends where the wife (Maggie, Caroline Quentin) is blindsided by her husband with a divorce request. Here is the heart of the show, how does a middle-aged housewife start all over again? Sounds depressing but it's not, I promise. There are six episodes in all and every one of them is a gem. We see Maggie dealing with finding a job (travel agency), trying to find common bonds with much younger co-workers (trouble with men), aging parents, a sudden lack of sex life, divorce proceedings (which is very different in Britain), her children fawning over the "other" woman, and re-joining the single scene at her age. Every topic is perfect blend of heartfelt and humorous. The humor is wry rather then punchlines. I really enjoyed this series and highly recommend it to others.
Series 1 & 2?

If this DVD really is 643 minutes long then it is Series 1 and Series 2, not just Series 1. I too have seen only the region 2 version, so have only seen the first series (series 2 is not out on DVD in the UK until next year). For this price I hope you would get both series. Caroline Quentin is in danger of being forever typecast (see also her character in Blue Murder), but she's very good at this type of role, so it may be to her advantage.
