Product Description

This #1 New York Times best-selling guide to decluttering your home from Japanese cleaning consultant Marie Kondo takes readers step-by-step through her revolutionary KonMari Method for simplifying, organizing, and storing.

Despite constant efforts to declutter your home, do papers still accumulate like snowdrifts and clothes pile up like a tangled mess of noodles?

Japanese cleaning consultant Marie Kondo takes tidying to a whole new level, promising that if you properly simplify and organize your home once, you’ll never have to do it again. Most methods advocate a room-by-room or little-by-little approach, which doom you to pick away at your piles of stuff forever. The KonMari Method, with its revolutionary category-by-category system, leads to lasting results. In fact, none of Kondo’s clients have lapsed (and she still has a three-month waiting list).

With detailed guidance for determining which items in your house “spark joy” (and which don’t), this international bestseller featuring Tokyo’s newest lifestyle phenomenon will help you clear your clutter and enjoy the unique magic of a tidy home—and the calm, motivated mindset it can inspire.

Still in the process of following the guides. Totally has changed my life. I was skeptical at first but this is THE book if you want finally get rid of things and feel a great weight being lifted. So far 19 garbage bags and counting - and I haven't even started books and papers.

This little book and the wisdom that is shared within is life changing.
I often joked with family and friends that saying 'I have been trying to get organized for me entire adult life.' The sad fact is, it was the truth.
To be honest I had little hope of ever being organized and had basically become resigned to my inability to create and keep things orderly in the space around me.
After my daughter had successfully used this method to transform her space, I thought I would dive it a try. I always believed that I had very few clothes. Piling them up in the living room was a shock!! I ended up releasing 8 large garbage bags that afternoon. My closet and drawer are now neatly organized and I love everything I have so it's easy to get dressed each day.

I am still working through the categories and each one has clarified how I want to live and made my life easier.

I highly recommend this book and know that if you follow the program as instructed it will change your life too.

At first I was quite keen on the information but realized that this is more about the author's compulsive need to be tidy and organized. Now I see that she has a blank journal available as well as a new book!! However, I do pay more attention to my own feeling and reaction when I look at something.

An excellent book. Marie proposes to attack tidying up in a very logical process, backed up by clear explanations that justify the order of actions. It is surprising to discover the reasons you have been hanging on to stuff that has fulfilled its purpose so long ago. She makes it much easier to let those things go.

This book helped me to see my life and possessions in a different way; instead of owning things and filling my space and life with them, I now appreciate them as things that help me to be and live more happily. Because of this change of perspective and the author's recommendations on how to discard and organize items, I feel like my life is truly in order and it is filled only with things that make me happy and help me to be the best person I can be. I highly recommend this book to anyone who wants to have a healthy relationship with material things that are already in his or her life and who wants to love his or her life more.

Love this book! Read it before I moved into my new house and organized as I unpacked. Highly recommend. If I had this book before I put all my stuff in storage I would of got rid of a lot more I didn't need.

Blah. Not a fan. Read it almost cover to cover though hoping for some amazing insight. Got a few tidbits but I just don't know what the hype about this book is. I needed a book written by a mom I think.
