The album features 12 tracks with guest appearances by: Kid Capri on "Put It On", the 8 Iz Enuff Crew on "8 Iz Enuff" and Jay-Z on "Da Graveyard". The album kicks off with "Put It On", and is one of my best tracks, it is also a perfect way to start the album with Big L expressing himself the way he intends to go on.
The second track on the album is "MVP" and was one of the tracks released as a single. L's delivery and flow throughout the song is second to none and on this track he really does show that he was the Most Valuable Poet.
Personally, I think that every track on the album is excellent, including "Da Graveyard" which features Jay-Z, but as much as I dislike Jay-Z's music, his delivery hear is much more impressive.Read more ›
When I heard this CD I was hooked. By his incredibly smooth, yet hard hitting flow, captivating narratives, to his somber street anthems and evil melody. He did it all in this album, and in his very own way. No one sounded like him, and I believe, couldn't touch him lyrically for his time. To me I believe's another "ahead of his time" and since this album I've tracked down songs that were left off the album which have become quite possibly my favorite Hip-Hop songs to date.. If you can agree to this, check online for a hit known as "Timez Iz Hard On Da Boulevard".. A true legend.. RIP MVP
"I got juice like boco, mad crews I broke through
n*ggas be getting mad cause I hit more chicks than they spoke to"
"Battles I lose none I make crews run
I get fools done, got ten fingers but only use one"
"I was taught wise, I'm known to extort guys
This ain't Cali, it's Harlem n*gga we do walkbys"
"Cause on the shelf is where your LP cold stood
Because it was no good, that sh*t ain't even go wood"
And there's plenty more where that came from. If your a fan of hip-hip in general and brilliant lyrics, then this cd is a must have.

Unquestionably one of the top five mid-90s NY thug-rap albums. A plethora of slick rhymes painting the stick-up-in-the-park kind of pre-P-diddy era. Read morePublished on April 26 2004 by Adam Goodell
