HASH(0xa4ab68e8) out of 5 stars Great photos July 20 2014

We got this book because our little one is so fascinated by the iPad, we thought it would be nice to have a few ebooks for her ready to go. This one has great inline photos and a lot of interesting facts about 20 African animals. But it's sad that many of the sections end with reduced numbers, endangered species, or some other tragic state due to the impact of mankind. (She's too young and needs to wait a few more years before we read her all the text here.) This short book really makes you think about the majesty of these animals, and hopefully helps us protect some of these endangered animals. [ My only complaint -- the book starts with all metric measurements (i.e., kilograms only for weight) and then transitions to both (pounds and grams) later in the text, which I really think should be consistent from the beginning. Simple fix...]
HASH(0xa53c0ec4) out of 5 stars A lovely way for children to learn June 3 2014

Once again the author has excelled by writing a lovely children’s book about the animals of Africa. I bought it for my grandchildren who enjoyed reading it and were particularly fascinated by the Aardvark...and they loved the picture of the mountain gorilla. Another great children’s book by Jess James!
