Don't let the adorable cover fool you, Little Miss Evil is one wild, adrenaline ride of absolute action packed excitement and I adored every single minute of it! It was hysterically funny and intensely suspenseful and just a crazy fun read. I mean how often do we get to root for the bad guys? Clearly not enough because Fiona and her evil father are two of my favorite characters and I'm going to be banging on Spencer Hill's door for the sequel. Hurry up guys! I need Little Miss Evil 2 NOW!(Ellen Oh, author of the Prophecy series)
Gr 4-7--For Fiona's 13th birthday, her "cackling super-villain" father gives her a flamethrower. She also lives in a old volcano and rides a helicopter to school, where two of her classmates, Ruby and Jai, also have super-villain parents. When Fiona's home comes under attack and her father is kidnapped, she has to step up into his role as leader and decide whether to ransom her father by giving up his nuclear super-weapon, the NOVA. Fiona learns more about the history and past alliances between her, Ruby's, and Jai's families as she tries to understand who took her father and who are her allies. Action-packed barely begins to describe this fast-paced adventure romp, which uses villainous conventions with many twists and turns. Superhero fans will enjoy the chases, fights, and technology, while Fiona's conflict over joining her family business will resonate with many preteens. VERDICT While there isn't much depth to the characters, the pace and drama will appeal to even reluctant readers.--"(Beth L. Meister, Milwaukee Jewish Day School, WI School Library Journal)
About the Author
Bryce Leung and Kristy Shen are a tag-team writing duo with way too many voices in their heads. As engineers living in Toronto, they can't be safely contained by mere cubicle walls, and therefore must spend every other waking moment writing to keep the crazy from leaking out at the office. When not writing or working, they spend their time parachuting into volcanoes and riding polar bears while tossing dynamite at rabid kangaroos.

Fortunately, Fiona's two best friends are also the kids of evil super-villains who understand what it's like. Even though their parents don't talk to each other, Fiona, Ruby and Jai stay friends.
Unfortunately, Ruby's evil super-villain pilots attack Fiona's volcano, wage war on her father and his Storm Troopers and steal the super-weapon he is protecting. When they kidnaps her father, it doesn't seem like things could get much worse.
Fortunately, Fiona got a portable flame thrower for her birthday this year.
This book is a crazy ride that I would recommend to boys and girls in 4th to 8th grades who like super-heroes and super-villains. I have to say, I was a little dubious at first as the premise seemed too far fetched, but it kept getting better as the story developed. I'm glad I stuck with it, and I think kids would probably enjoy it even more.
I had the good fortune of getting to read an early version of this book, and I can't tell you how much I loved it. The world Fiona lives in is at times laugh-out-loud funny as she struggles to balance the normal life she wants and the reality of the super villain life she's surrounded by. I especially loved her evil genius father and his antics, although the whole cast of characters is unique, well developed and highly entertaining. I can't wait for the rest of the world to get a chance to read it and love it too. Highly recommend!!!
