About the Author

Jamie Mason Cohen is a high school English teacher in Toronto, Canada.
He is the recipient of "The SOLE Challenge," an international
teaching award sponsored by TED Youth Conference and The Huff Post,
and is a TEDx speaker.
His work is featured in the current issue of

Ontario College of Teachers' magazine, Professionally Speaking

as well in TED.com, the JW Foundation's, The Art of Learning Project,

and the scholarly journal, Jewish Educational Leadership.

After years of working behind the scenes for Saturday Night Live creator
Lorne Michaels in New York, Jamie created synergy between his
knowledge of entertainment, arts, media, and education to generate unconventional
teaching strategies for educators.

With over a decade of classroom experience, Jamie's professional
passion is to find creative ways to instill in his students a love of learning
and to help them develop real-world skills as well as give teachers inspiring
and practical tools to make their jobs easier, more fun, and increasingly
effective.

Cohen's credits include the design and implementation of teacher
training workshops for schools in the Toronto District School Board,
York Region District School Board, the Canadian Pre-University Programme
in Malaysia, Tanenbaum Community Hebrew Academy of Toronto
and education seminars such as RAVSAK Day School Conference
and the Digital J Learning Network's Webinar series. He lives in Maple,
Ontario with his wife, Karen and their two children.
