I bought this controller to do some casual gaming on my laptop. I used to have an old dual stick gamepad for a similar purpose and it did the job. This one, not so much.

I'll start with the good. It has all the buttons you need. You can switch between xinput and direct input. Most of the buttons work fine for me. The overall build is good and solid. However.

Their is one huge issue with this controller and one smaller one. The big one is the analog sticks. Both of them have a deadzone with about 5 mm of travel, so you can forget about being accurate in shooters or racing games. Another issue with both sticks is that they send out a false directional signal about 50 percent of the time. Last night the stick pushed me off a cliff in Minecraft, usually it just spins me around in a circle, good times. The more subjective issue with this controller is how comfortable it is to hold. I'd say I have pretty normal size hand and this controller just does not feel as comfortable to hold as my xbox controller. I was going to send this thing back to Amazon, but I was right at the 30 day deadline and decided it wasn't worth the hassle.

Overall I'd say that you should only buy this if you don't play shooters or racing games and absolutely cannot put together the extra 20 dollars for a proper xbox controller. As for me, this controller will end up in a drawer somewhere as soon a I receive my xbox controller for windows or a wireless pc adapter for xbox controllers. I havn't decided on which one yet.

Cheers

The controller is responsive. The set-up is pretty much plug and play. It's a bit buggy sometimes and you feel that the materials are not high end, even though there is a good weight to it.

For really hardcore gamers, I would buy those as training controllers, to get your skills better but if you have ladder matches or any sorts of competition that you take more seriously, this will not cout it.

For casual gamers, you don't need anything else. For 22$ on Amazon, it's a bargain because I've only seen those sold for 30$ at retail in Canada.

The cord is long enough that you can play on your TV, it's the tradeoff for getting the wireless model wich doubles what you are gonna have to pay for one controller (45 on amazon and 60 at retail).

All in all, it's a great deal for your money. One of these broke after about 20 months of usage, but for 20$ don't think to much about it.

I use this pad a lot, connected to my laptop, although it might not suit a proper gamer I find it works without any issues. I use it for Elite Dangerous and FIFA 16 mostly. There were no issues connecting to my laptop.

As far as price goes, this one is definitely your best bet. The wireless version offers nothing more except no cord (which also means replacing batteries and some input lag) and vibration (largely a gimmick except for certain games). The Dualshock clone design makes it good for PS1/PS2 emulation if you're not interested in Dualshock-to-USB adapters. There's a few caveats, however:

-Face and shoulder buttons click loudly
-Certain Xinput titles handle the right stick bizarrely due to the controller layout being different from the 360's (DC Universe Online, Microsoft Flight Simulator X). This is more on the game than the controller, however.
-The Microsoft-esque directional pad can feel weird to anyone used to Sony's version, though the 360 controller's infamous sensitivity seems absent here.

Pros:
-Plug and play. I went in-game within seconds.
-Cord seems solid and does not tangle.
-You can switch the output mode which is good for older games.
-Perfectly emulates the Xbox 360 controller and has the exact same compatibility.
-The price. This is as cheap as you can get for this quality.
Cons:
-It looks like a ps3 controller but it really does not feel like it because the bumpers and triggers don't feel as smooth.
-Noisy. Makes ''click'' sounds when the buttons are pressed.
-The Dpad is just like the Xbox one (inaccurate)

These are great game pads and I will continue using them. My only issue is the D-Pad wears out after a short time. The light rubber under the D-Pad fails as I use the D-Pad for steering in a racing game. You can still use the joysticks to steer but they are not as precise. That being said I still like this item.

responsive, light and not too pricey. Not as solid feeling at an xbox360 controller, more similar in feel to playstation ones. Worked in linux Ubuntu 15 with j-test Jtk, had to get usb extender to reach the couch from my comp

For starters, it's sure NOT plug n play on some systems. Took me days to get it running, had I not found some weird forum on the intertubes where a fellow described doing the *opposite* of the instructions included in the package. I had to uninstall automated hardware. Had to set it up as xbox controller with microsoft software first, reboot, THEN add the logitech dual software THEN reboot again. It was like some weird puzzle adventure game all by itself.

Getting it out of the package, I cut myself twice--it's packed in there as if it was packed with the Queen's tiara. So much for eco packaging :/

Once I figured all that it, it runs great. It's solid. I find the triggers are really hard to hold down [eg: stealth crouching] if you don't have a lot of hand strength. I brutalized it for days with Batman Arkham Asylum and Bioshock and it shows no sign of wear or tear.

For the money, it's a workhorse of a controller that is easily recognized by any pc games with even partial controller support.

Just know that depending on your pc set up and hand strength, there might be some fiddling about, required.
