I just received this remote yesterday. I installed the software , got the updates , plugged in the remote and followed the instructions. First off I have mostly new components. I do have an rather obscure TV (Insignia) however it recognized that one. It did give me a slightly different model number , I choose that and it worked fine. It also recommended the other devices models based on what I had entered (for example my receiver is a Pioneer VSX-1022K and it suggested a VSX1022 worked perfectly). It had to learn from my existing Bell ExpressVu 9242 remote. I had a little issue with this , trying various positions and distances to get them to communicate. I know why now as I had left the little plastic protector on the Harmony remote on the bottom , thus blocking the IR signal doooooooooh. Despite that faux pas it did connect once I had the angle right (sure it would have done it fist time had I taken the plastic off).

Once set up via online and my computer, I downloaded the information to the remote. The 'WATCH TV' worked flawlessly, turning on the TV, Receiver and Satellite box. All the buttons worked for receiver and I could access channels and menus on the Bell 9242. When I tried Watch DVD the TV was set to 'TV' but going through the help menu fixed that (should have been HDMI 1) instantly. Not sure I set up that way or got messed up in the transfer.

So far I am impressed. I currently only have Watch DVD, Watch TV set up, but plan to set it for music as well as a projector. This unit is currently replacing 4 remotes and even better questions from others in the family haha (All I want to do is watch TV what do I have to turn on !!!). One feature I really like is turn the off button on the remote shuts everything down based on what you were doing last.

After you've set up the device it seems fairly straight forward but it's pretty technical and I can see a lot of people becoming frustrated and giving up. There is a toll free number to call but I like things to be more basic. Once you think you've got everything done you get to try it and the LOgitech remote is a lot more helpful in solving your problems. Not sure if it's worth the price.
