Driven by curiosity, Jeff Ford and his hunting buddies spent more than a year tracking the wolverine down to get a picture. Now that it was documented, he wanted to know more. Where did this wolverine come from? What was it doing so far south of normal range? Ford became an amateur biologist, eventually setting up an entire research area to collect photos, videos, and hair samples for DNA analysis. His work included some surprising new findings about the behavior of this elusive species. I found Ford's enthusiasm for wolverines to be quite contagious.
Although this is a book about nature, I really enjoyed it for its human elements. It's a story of persistence, self discovery, and overcoming obstacles.
