Product Description

About the Author

As a likely lad, Charles suffered in shorts through Tasmanian winters and in summer counted the days until he visited his grandparents in Adelaide. With desert-hot days, cool swimming pools, pasties with sauce squirted into the middle and four TV stations, this flat city held paradisiacal status. In teenage years he realised that girls from Adelaide n with their Teutonic cheekbones and fluoridated teeth n were better looking than anywhere else in Australia. These days he lives with a girl from Adelaide in the Adelaide Hills and has developed an unnatural appreciation for Coopers Pale Ale.

Lonely Planet Australia was a gift for my youngest daughter who will be visiting Australia with us (Mom & Dad). We haven't used this travel guide yet so can't provide specific feedback, but we have used Lonely Planet for many family trips and it has always added fun & adventure to our travels.

With Australia being as large as the US, I was overwelmed with planning our trip. Lonely Planet's Discover Australia was helpful in knowing where to go ... on various time lines. I wish they listed affordable bed and breakfasts and other quaint places.
HASH(0xa0ca6dec) out of 5 stars Lonely Planet Trusted Name in Travel May 15 2013

This is the second time I have brought this book as a gift for someone going to Australia. Personally, I have used other travel brands in the past but they are not the same as Lonely Planet. Lonely Planet provides maps/information in easy read and find chapters. Never travel overseas without it.

HASH(0xa03600cc) out of 5 stars Good information - difficult to access Jan. 10 2013
By Robin D'Antona - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Kindle Edition Verified Purchase
As with any ebook it is difficult to use as a reference. It is best used if you are simply reading it like a narrative to learn about Australia.
