HASH(0x99f653fc) out of 5 stars Finally, Lonely Planet gets back to where it belongs as the best of travel books Aug. 20 2009
By Nick - Published on
Format: Paperback Verified Purchase
I've been thinking about going to Fiji for a number of years now, and despite Lonely Planet's stumbling as of late with the quality of their travel books, I feel this is back to meeting the standards which we expect for Lonely Planet. There's a wealth of information, and on my quick spotchecks of hotels, how to get from A to B and activities, the information was accurate.

I'm quite impressed with the depth of the book, and instead of a high-level overview dedicated to tourists who will never venture off the beaten path, it seems that the authors really did their homework. I feel confident that I can use this book as a primary source of information and my "go to" reference.

Now comes the bad part: Actually having to save up for the trip to Fiji.

This book is awesome. It was written by an actual human being who has been there. It has lots of maps. Where to go and what to see. It's a great book....I recommend

as with most lonely planets guides I have found the information to be very detailed and helpful in making decisions or checking information I got else where.

HASH(0x99d2e5f4) out of 5 stars Up to date guide to Fiji Aug. 22 2010

The guide was very up to date. (Though, contrary to the guide, gay sex is no longer illegal in Fiji.) The descriptions are right on. I was able to arrange my boat charter based on the information.
