Product Description

When the alpha falls... He falls hardest of all.

The first time Stone saw Winnie, she was alone in the woods with no memory of where she came from.

With one look, he knew something was different. When she finally came of age and her mating heat kicked in, he realized that she had always been the one.

Sent to live with a strange family, Winnie was forced to deal with the hateful treatment of her stepmother and stepsisters.

Mating the alpha changed that.

But when her past comes back to find her, will the heat last after the clock strikes midnight?

Warning: This shifter fairy tale is meant to be enjoyed by only those who love this kind of adorable stuff. Think you've got what it takes? Then come on in!

Well to be honest, I was expecting more from the story. I know that many won't agree with my opinion but here you have it anyway. For me, their story was just meh. Sorry.

The book started on a bad note for me, since Stone pushes Winnie away from him and makes her live for four years with this horrible family, who doesn't treat her right, like at all! They make it very clear from the start that she is just an outsider that doesn't belong in their pack. Sure, he thinks he's doing the right thing but I don't buy for a second that he couldn't have noticed something over the years. He mentions that he's been keeping taps on her and visited very often her home and can you expect me to believe he never, as an alpha, noticed that something fishy was going on. Common, be serious!

I admit, once he finds out that she is his mate, he does try to make up for the wrong he's done but for me it was just a little too late.It was funny and a bit frustrating to see him say the wrong things all the time. Thankfully we have his POV and we get to find out what he really meant to say. Also, he did redeem himself just a tinny bit at the end, when he confessed his feelings to Winnie.

Now, Winnie's character I liked. A lot! At first she lets her family (mostly her evil sisters) push her around and does their daily chores but she does have a plan to change her live, if her situation doesn't get better. There is nothing holding her back from leaving the pack, since she doesn't feel accepted. Of course when Stone marks her as his mate, she has to decide whether to stay and forgive him or leave for good. What I loved the most about her is that she really makes him work for her forgiveness. She's a strong and determinated woman who won't obey to man's words just because he says them. Hell no! Also, I was so proud of her when she finally showed her sisters who the real boss is.

I haven't read Gwen and Xavier's story yet but I'm pretty sure I'm going to love it! They were so cute and amazing.

This story didn't make it into my top books from Riley but just because I didn't like, doesn't mean that you won't. So, happy reading! :)

HASH(0xa11926e4) out of 5 stars The Mighty Stone has fallen...#SmexyTimesFairyTales Jan. 2 2016

This is book 3 in the Fairytale Shifter tales and this is one of the best , in my opinion. This is Stone and Winnie’s story. Beginning with a look into the past and then a shot right into the present.

Book three picks up where book 2 leaves off and we see that Stone and Winnie are mates. Now you would think this would make Winnie super happy as she has been in love with him forever but since he has never given her the time of day, she is heartbroken as she thinks this is just mate fever ruling him. But as the story progresses, we learn that there is a past between Stone and Winnie as he was the first one to find her and he has always cared about her, more than he portrayed. Winnie doesn’t know anything about this and feels like she will never fit in—she is the bear in a sea of wolves. Her foster family did their best to make sure she knew how unloved and unwanted she was, especially her step-mother and stepsisters. Someone needs to seriously smack these step sisters along with their mama...(hint hint)

In this story, we see how Winnie in previous stories was so into Stone but by this story she has practically given up and in previous stories Stone could barely give Winnie the time of day in public but would follow Winnie with his eyes but by this book he is so head over heels into Winnie and he realizes this is *HIS MATE*. He doesn’t care what people would or are going to say. This is his mate and is going to show everyone, her included, how much he loves her. I teared up a time or two but also, get ready for this to be a panty melter. Stone is such an alpha wolf.—I mean, yes, he is the head guy but he is so dominant and he wants his bear with such force. I loved how he was willing to step back and let her lead, even knowing how that is so not his way.

There are a lot of things that take place , things that end up with twists and turns all the way up to the very end. This is what makes this a very classic #AlexisRiley book. Hot, dirty and hard..yum! I cannot wait to see what she has next in her lineup for 2016, for these fairy shifter stories are awesome.

My Rating: 4.8 stars *****

HASH(0xa12ee054) out of 5 stars A Paranormal Fairytale Jan. 2 2016

The Lost Slipper by Alexa Riley is the third book in Riley's Fairytale Shifter series. Riley has created interesting characters in her creative take on well-known fairy tales.

Stone is the alpha of the pack, but instead of being the stereotypical over-the-top alpha, he takes the time to care and listen to Winnie. I enjoyed seeing the softer, sweet side to this pack leader. Winnie is a bear shifter, and she is alone in the world. She needs to fit in, but doesn't feel that being part of a wolf pack is going to work for her. Will Stone convince her to stay?

The Lost Slipper is a naughty but nice take on Cinderella. It is a unique paranormal version of the Classic tale of love. Perfect for paranormal romance fans. A 3-3.5 star review for me.

Winnie is a whiney pain in the ass. First she hates him cuz he didn't love her, then because he did. She wanks let me go so he does and she wanks you let me go. Half way through u was ready for them to turn her into bear steaks!

I'm kinda with the bratty step-sisters. Her idiotic 4th grade behavior was just too much. Luckily I'm only out 1.05 but even a buck is too much to waste on her!!!!!

HASH(0xa3853a2c) out of 5 stars Alpha Stone is Addicted to Winnie's Honey Pot Jan. 4 2016
By Vagabonda Reads - Published on
Format: Kindle Edition
The Lost Slipper is author Alexa Riley’s third offering in her terrific Fairy Tale Shape Shifter Series.

A stand-alone novella, The Lost Slipper returns the reader to the shifter community of Gray Ridge, Colorado where Alpha Stone guards his wolf pack with a most serious sense of dedication and responsibility.

When a seemingly orphaned female cub shifter is found in the woods, Alpha Stone brings her to his home for care. Once she’s shifted back into human form, Alpha Stone realizes that the female, Winnie, is too young to be in his house and under his care. Moreover, he can’t deny the strong pull he feels towards her. Divided between his feelings for Winnie and his responsibility towards his pack, Alpha Stone delivers the young Winnie to the Stockton household to be raised.

During her four years with the Stocktons, Winnie has suffered at the hands of her step-mother and two-step sisters. (Sound familiar?) Winnie has become a servant to the whims of her adopted family, and chooses to keep Alpha Stone (as well as everyone else) in the dark about the abuse being heaped upon her. What (thinks the reader) could possibly set Winnie free? The answer is: hormones! Yes, hormones! Winnie finally reaches maturation and with just one sniff, Alpha Stone gives Winnie the bite and claims her as his mate. End of story, yes? No! No?

Winnie has issues about Alpha Stone’s desire for her — is it from his heart, or are his hormones simply answering the call of hers?
Does it really make any difference? Only one way to find out . . . .

While The Lost Slipper is no less steamy than its predecessors, it felt a bit disjointed at times. With Alpha Stone delivering lines like “Give me that sweet honey, Winnie," it’s difficult not to fall into the Winnie the Pooh universe and completely forget the Cinderella aspect of this story. But this is erotica first and when Alpha Stone and Winnie finally get on the same page, honey, along with other viscous bodily fluids flow in abundance.

Alexa Riley’s alpha shifters are a hot bunch of males, eager to breed their mates. Possessive and loyal, they live to pleasure and serve their females —whether their mates be wolf/bear shifters, or straight-out human. The fairy tale tie-in adds a certain charm and sometimes humorous slant to these tales. These stories are always a treat to read and The Lost Slipper is a tasty addition to the Series. So go ahead and get some honey for yourself!

Three and 3/4 stars
