Used this to cook a turkey for Christmas. Thermometer paired super easy to my phone. Was so easy to start a cook and monitor it. Accuracy was spot on. Only problem is when you stepped about 10 feet away it disconnected. My phone had to be kept in the kitchen to monitor the bird. It would make it impossible to BBQ unless you are next to your BBQ for the entire cook. If you stepped inside to cook veggies or something you could over cook your food and no notification would be sent until you were in connection range. Very sad you have to buy the more expensive version to get a halfway decent range.Note: if you have a spare device to leave in the kitchen, you pair to the thermometer and signed into Meaters App you can connect it to that and use it as a “base” which uploads your temp and cook time to anywhere via the app on another phone.Overall awesome product but returning due to the fact I can’t even sit on my couch less then 15 feet away and see the temp on my turkey.

My wife had been eyeing this Meater Thermometer for sometime and Christmas was the perfect opportunity to get it for (her) us. Over the holidays we used to cook some Prime Rib, and the results were absolutely AMAZING!! It was done perfectly to the tempurature of our choice (medium rare). The Meat was so tender and enjoyable - it may have been the best beef we have ever prepared. A week later we used the Meater for Duck Breast and again - they were done to perfection. I can only HIGHLY recomment this thermometer to anyone who chooses to eat meat - it is more than worth it!!

I am a foody and after hearing about that product online some time ago I was happy to see it on Amazon.ca Prime.

I finally order my unit and man am I glad I did! I already used 3 times in 3 days.

The MEATER is not your run of the mill food thermometer or for that matter your standard IOT gizmo.
It is a smart, extremely well design cooking companion. From the moment you open the other box you know this is a high end device that was made by passionate peoples. The look and feel are top notch the material have a rich and quality to it, the app is above standard in graphic quality and ease of use…but what matters the most is that it works amazingly well.
Following the simple instructions by pairing your IOS (or Android) device with The Meater, insert the probe in your favorite piece of meat, answer the easy questions asked by the app and you are ready to go. Form the oven to the BBQ it will cook everything every time to perfection.

No cables, no clunky plastic duo tone screen …just freedom and fun.

I got rid of my other Thermometer after the first cook …it is that cool.

I highly recommend The Meater to all foody or casual home cook. You will not regret it.

P.S: I was at a friend’s place yesterday and I brought my Meater with me, he installed the app on his iPhone (with French IOS) and the app was already and totally “en français” this showed me an impressive level of detail and care from the manufacturer.

Love this probe,I use it everytime I put a big piece of meat in the oven,have always a exact meat center temperature so never overcooked or undercooked, 4 stars only cause the bluetooth range isn't far enough approximately 3 to 4 meters so basically your phone has to sit next to the oven,you can't bring it anywhere else in the house so maybe for 100$ could raise the range so I can bring my phone with me and watch a movie while it's cooking,,thank you

I love my new Meater wireless thermometer. It was very easy to set up first time and functioned as described. When connected via Bluetooth to my phone, the signal range is about ten feet when using my BBQ on the deck and more than thirty feet when using my oven in the house... just like the man said.
If I use both my tablet near the BBQ connected to my own Meater cloud, and my phone also connected to same Meater cloud, the range is unlimited. The whole thing was very easy to set up.
Accuracy is superb as evidenced by the perfectly done steaks I cooked, but being a techy kind of guy, I had to verify the displayed temperature of the Meater against a lab-certified thermometer and the Meater is bang on.
Unlike the lab thermometer, the Meater calculates estimated time to cook, provides a five minute warning to finish and displays both the temperature of the steak as well as the ambient temperature of the oven or BBQ.
It's just a beautiful thing and I now wonder how I managed without one of these before.

I’m a relatively average cook, trying to feed our young family.

I have steered clear of all kinds of roasts in the past, generally due to the stupid reason that I don’t know when it’s done. So I have to constantly take it out of the oven and check, which invariably it isn’t, so back in it goes. Then when I do finally take it out, it’s over cooked and dry. It’s all too hard.

A mate recommended this to me and it’s potentially the best purchase I’ve made since birth, maybe earlier. All roasts require zero oversight, and come out perfect. I can’t tell you how awesome this is. I just sit back with a wine and wait for the notification.

Only downside is the Bluetooth signal doesn’t travel far, so I have to sit near the oven with my wine instead of on the couch.

I purchased the MEATER after watching Youtube videos on how to use my new Komodo style grill, where it was occasionally mentioned and recommended. The device and app are great. I love how when initiating a cook it steps you through the kind of protein and even the cut as well has how well you like it done. The app then calculates estimated cooking time and alerts you when there is five minutes remaining.

I've gotten perfect results every time I use the MEATER. The biggest issue is when carving a roast it looks like someone put a bullet through it. Other probes where the electronics sit outside of the grill leave a hole a fraction of the size.

Bluetooth range is acceptable with this model with a ceramic grill, where I can use the app anywhere in my kitchen or family room while the probe is outside in the grill. But with a metal top Weber gas grill I have to place my phone up against the glass on my kitchen window sill. The range is very much limited by the metal lid so I would purchase a MEATER with an extended range when using a gas grill.

Pros: gives perfect results, great app with nice features, easy to use

Cons: leaves a large hole in the meat, Bluetooth range limited by metal grill lids
